My cat got ran over by a car, how should I cheer myself up?

Question:

My cat got hit by a car today... I took him to the vet and he said it's going to cost about $900. Luckily he doesn't have any broken bones but he has a cut on his leg and and his while blood cell count is up. (He has an infection) I'm so sad!! I feel really depressed. I'm trying to cheer myself up, but I don't know what to do. My cat is staying overnight at the vet's office. How should I cheer myself up?

I realize your cat is still alive but you could still do what My daughter did when her cat died.

She collected all the photos that had been taken of her cat called "Billy" and she made collage of his life. It still hangs on her bedroom wall and she's living elsewhere

At the time I do know it helped her greatly. I often think of "Billy" fondly whenever I see the collage.

Just be glad he's not going to die. My cat got it's face smashed in by a car and the vet had to put him down.

u shuld watch a romantic movie and eat cold pizza and ice cream

put on a happy movie! (nothing with cats though, cuz then it will just remind u of ur cat!)

Watch movies or tv shows that make you happy. Eat comfort foods. Anything that makes you feel good.

Go to Wal-Mart buy the cheapest baseball bat they have, find the car that hit your cat and beat the snot out of it. Then find another vet because 900 dollars is ridiculous.

if your over 21 grab a nice cold refreshing beer. if your under 21 no matter what you do you wont forget about what happened to your cat.

you're very lucky that nothing worse happened to him, but i know its still hard. try watching a funny movie, or reading a book, just try to keep your mind off of it, he'll be back in no time.

I was in the same situation a few years back. My cat got hit by a car, but she wasn't so lucky. She died and I didn't find out about it until a few days later.

Also, I just had a cat who was my best friend who died about a year ago. She died of cancer. It was horrible watching her go through the pain. It sounds like you're cat might be in pain as well. It's always hard to let go, but sometimes it's the best thing you can do for them.

Talk to someone you respect about how you're feeling. Maybe a parent, teacher, counselor, pastor, etc.

Think about that. Your cat will be home tomorrow. I know it's hard to think about the fact that you won't be able to snuggle him when you're sleeping, but it's only one night. He's very lucky to be alive, you know.
