talking honestly about what is going on with someone you trust or perhaps with a professional, would be a good start. it is possible that you may need medication to help you, but seeking help is most important.
depression is a mental illness and with treatment, life will become manageable again. the worst thing any depressed person can do is nothing. it doesn't go away by itself.
be open to ideas and suggestions, no one thing works for everyone. We all heal differently. just don't give up- on life or yourself.
Therapy helps and possibly anti - depressants. Both together works best.

I took Wellbutrin 150 mg and Zoloft 100 mg and it didn't work and I had to be hospitalized for depression. While I was there my doctor doubled my dose and I haven't been depressed for over 4 years now. I guess you can say I manage it with my medication.
I sought medical treatment with therapy and I committed myself to learning how to cope instead of withdrawing from everyone.
it helps alot to talk to someone like a counselor, and to take medicines
I saw my family doctor, and he put me on antidepressants. I had to try 3 before I found one that really agreed with me.
I also saw a therapist for 4 years until I worked through issues - was co-dependant, and didn't know it.
Anyway, it took a while and a lot of soul searching, but now I am very happy, and content with who I am.
