Personal issues i need help with?


Question:
I know i have anxiety, im 16, now im thinking its hereditary because ive been noticing my parents behaviors. but i always have anxiety, like wherever i go...whenever i drive to go to work i get paranoid about everyone looking at me, especailly when i have to stop at a busy stoplight, i figit and just wana spaz out cause im so paranoid about everyone looking at me, i mean i have pretty good looks, im not ugly, im not nerdy.. i play ice hockey and im a lifegaurd... but im always paranoid. and i spaz out when people say certain words...for instance today this guy i know said the word weird a couple times when i was having a conversation and for some reason i spaz out whenever someone says that word..sometimes my heart jumps, sometimes my body goes into a lil spasm, and people notice it, and wonder y i do it, cause im not weird, and they tell me that, everyone says im a perfectly normal kid, but i have anxiety and i hate it!

i dont think ive ever had a conversation where i havent been scared about what the other person is going to say.. i mean im sure i have but not enough to stop being scared, like say i meet a new person.. i get really scared about what they are gonna talk about, and my biggest fear is for them to say im weird...sometimes when im walking around somewhere busy i start imagining that everyone is saying "hey look at that weird guy", "that guy is weird", or "that guy does weird stuff".. i mena im funny, and fun to be around... but i can never open up because im so afraid of others cause society can be so cruel, and all these problems have built up over the years, i guess its true that society makes u who u are...

Answers:
There are medications for anxiety and panic attacks.

Also you can try (in my opinion useless) meditation, yoga, brain puzzles if you have an attack, all of this stuff to relax your mind. Talk to a few of your closer friends more often, work your way out of being afraid they will say something bad, and develop on it to other people.

I have a similar problem. Just try and relax, take a deep breath.

If you ever feel like you will get a spasm in public, just ball your hands into fists extremely hard.

Good luck, and maybe see a psychiatrist specializing in anxiety.
