Seroguel.?

I was on it for a while for my bipolar disorder. Unfortunately, it did not seem to help much with stabilizing my mood. It also caused me to gain quite a bit of weight because it can effect your metabolites. Therefore, even though you may not increase your eating you can still gain weight. I have seen similar things occur in people I have worked with. However, it may not cause you to gain weight.
Personally, I have found Abilify to be much more effect in treating my symptoms and has a lot less side-effects. Actually, Abilify is a third generation antipsychotic, whereas, Seroquel is a second generation antipsychotic.
It may help you, as everyone responds differently to medication. If you have an questions or concerns I suggest that you talk to your doctor about them and available treatment options.
Here's the website for seroquel:

This should give you more information than you probably ever wanted to know. :)
I was on this twice. It worked fairly well for me, but as I had to take it in the morning, I often times fell asleep at school or work.
it'a a very good med. i have been taking it for 6 years now. it has helped with my schizophrenia. it helps to handle my hallucinations .both visual and auditorial..plus it helps me to sleep at night.it also has help with my bi-polar. without seroquel i don't know where i would be with my mental illness. my father-in-law also takes it with good results.
I took it for bipolar I. It made me gain A LOT of weight and sleep 17 hours a day, and it didn't really help my symptoms. I am not a big fan of it.
Just to let you know, I also have been on seroquel and after research I found out it can cause diabetes/high blood sugar. So if you have any type of diabetes in your family history - be careful. The drs that prescribe this usually don't inform you of the side effects. My sister is now pre-diabetic due to seroquel. Otherwise it worked well. Just have to take it night because it knocks you out - can also cause weight gain as well.
