Answers:
try calling your nhs direct number, ask them ,they may either be able to talk to you them selves or have a duty psychiartist who can call you back or get in touch with your gp's surgerory who can get a duty psychiatrist to call you or may even advise you go to a&e if things are really bad and you are at risk of harming either yourself or anyone else.

I have been to a&e many times before for feeling too low to cope, I was admitted once (I was asked first and I really was too scared to go home so was in full agreement with being admitted). I was able to sit down face-to-face and talk things through- I personally find this much much more helpful than over the phone- not that I dont use the phone- I do, but whan things get overly bad and I know a ohone call isnt going to help, I will go straight to a&e.
You do have to wait, but this is after the admitting nurse has seen you and the time you wait is usually the time it takes for them to get hold of the 24 hour duty psychiatrist.

There are some samaritan centres and mind centres you can visit too- check out thier websites as they may well be office hours only but its worth a try.

Try planning who you will speak to about this tomorrow also,- make sure theyre is someone there for you to talk to or it may feel never ending and that adds to the pressure and fear.
You could contact (the smallest to the biggest listed here)
Your friends and /or family (this may be impossible and is usually impossible but is worth a mention!)
Your G.P- who can see you on the day in most cases and will be able to either refer you to help or get incontact with other teams of people who can help you
Your Community Psychaitric Nusrse/Mental Health support worker/social worker if you have one
Your psychiatrist/psychotherapist/p...
- or anyone else you feel would help you carry the depression.

Keep on moving and planning your next port of call, next foot of action- you will feel better, but it will take time.
Try Rethink, Mind or Saneline

If you ring NHS direct they will put you through to one of their nurses if you wish. 0845 4647 (24 hours)

I agree with you about the Samaritans they don't have a lot to offer.

Take care, and have a little to eat and drink it will help.

All the best
MIND has one but is only open mon-fri
