I am having terrible mood swings lately and wondering if I may be bi-polar?

Question:
I have a friend who is very stressed out and he has been having some terrible mood swings, sometimes the mood is like being in HELL and then the other times he feels real GOOD. What is up with my friend. When he gets in these kind of HELL moods he goes to the grocery store and buys the largest Hershey Bar he can find (with almonds) and gobbles it down real fast. Is this normal human behavior or is my friend becoming a chocolate fanatic among other things.
Could he be bi-polar and not know it. I want to help him but I do not know what to do. Please help. Thank you

Answers:
Is he on medication? Even regular medication can make people do loopy things. Steroids? Drugs? Could he have a brain tumour?

Bipolar is a very serious disease, as is depression. True bipolar disorder has alot more to it than just going on a chocolate binge. A key indicator of the person making ridiculous choices without realizing consequences or ramifications. For example, if you were living paycheck to paycheck, it would be really silly to buy a sailboat. A bipoloar person wouldn't be able to see that it was a bad idea (don't even bother trying to tell them either -- they just won't get it).

Talk to your friend. Let him know you are concerned. If you are still really concerned, go see your doctor. It might be tough, but a true friend doesn't watch while their friend drowns -- they jump in to save them, even if it means that they might drown, too.
go to the doctor
Are you sure he's not a she? Sounds like P.M.S.
not every freakin mood swing makes you bipolar! if he is munching down sugar his body is telling him something, it could be anything, nutrition, hormones, etc.
I would get a full check up from a doctor. He might find medication will level out his moods and he can enjoy a normal life. Good luck :o)
nah. you are probably just stressed.
i believe doctors like to diagnose people with bi-polar because its just an easy way to get money and they your are spending hundreds on meds that are just gonna make you worse.
you could try to convince your friend to see a shrink. they cal always help. if that doesn't work, take him somewhere that might relax him & help him unwind.
Yeah. Not even trying to be funny check if he has drugs, because I knew a guy a lot like that. If he isnt using drugs, I'd try and get him to a doctor or something
could he be bipolar? its possible, but it is also possible that the stress is driving him nuts, or he can actually be suffering from depression due to all the stress. Chocolate is a great mood enhancer, so by buying the chocolate bar he is flooding his brain with feel good chemicals. Of course he should tell a doctor of his symptoms to be correctly diagnosed
well i'm sure guys have mood swings as well as girls. stress can cause you to feel pretty rotton at times and can sometimes cause your hormones to go nuts. everyone deals with it differently. i guess his way is gobbling a candy bar. i wouldn't worry about that unless he eats like 20 a day or something. (i on the other hand, prefer cookie dough.)
talk to your friend i guess. but i wouldn't go for bipolar. it could be anything else, so don't assume he has a disease yet. save that for a last resort.
Have him get his hormones tested, check the net there is a company that will send your a kit and for a cost they will let you know what hormones are out of wack.
If this cannot be done go to www.siselinternational.com order the Spectra AO and the SupraMaxx for Him and you will be amazed at how this will help his body get back into sync.My ID usa5651720
Good luck..
