Does anyone else take Lamictal?

Question:
I know people who take Prozac and Zoloft and stuff like that, but I've never met anyone else who takes Lamictal. How do you feel about it?

Answers:
My husband and I both take Lamictal. He says it makes him a little horny. (Maybe that's just an excuse). ;) It's supposed to help with depression. Not really with mania or hypomania.

With me, though, it caused me to have an odd interaction with another medication I was on. With some adjustments that were made with dosage amount, however, that is no longer a problem. I've been pleased with the Lamictal since it doesn't seem to have a lot of side effects.

You do however have to watch out for a rash that some people experience when taking Lamictal. (Steven Johnson's Syndrome). It can be very serious and you would have to discontinue Lamictal if that were to occur.

Below is a link to a bipolar disorder forum where this is discussed. There is a photograph that I posted there showing what the rash looks like:

I do hope that the day will not come when I hear the doc tell me to stop the Lamictal and take Zoloft or other med. I love the lamictal as it works for mer and I tolerate it very well
