Because you'd cause heartbreak to someone else.
Every life has a choice. She made a choice that wasn't wise. That doesn't mean you should make the same choice. There are people who love you and care about you. Why would you want to hurt them? Why would you want to put them through what you are going through right now? If you can't see any other reason to live, think of the people who love you and want you to live.
Besides people who commit suicide go to hell. That should be reason enough to not do it.
Don't blame yourself, you didn't know how she would react, sure people are upset when they break up, would she want you to stay if you didn't love her and you ended up cheating on her.
Adults are responsible for maintaining their mental health. People do mourn after the loss of love, but after a period, they jump back into life and start over again.
If they have trouble going through this process, they take on a few extra hours at work to earn enough to go to psychotherapy and get professional help. If they feel destructive and don't have money, they can call a suicide hotline.
Most people maintain their connection to other loved ones and those people help them through a difficult time.
Apparently your girlfriend chose not to seek help.
Just because someone close to you kills herself, doesn't mean that you do too. You need to take the sane path that she failed to take. Just because life is tough at one point, doesn't mean that you should blow away the rest of your life. Why would you want to give up things like getting married, having children, seeing them graduate and get married, meeting your grandchildren all because one person in your life didn't do what she should have done?
because of your family and your future my boyfriend killed himself and even though its hard and i still blame myself i wouldnt kill myself. Just think happy even though you broke her heart doesnt mean she would want you to kill yourself. just please dont kill yourself it will get better
