How can you receive mental health services without insurance?

Question:
Are there resources for those who have issues with depression or anxiety who lack medical insurance?

Answers:
In the USA, community mental health can be a great resource for you. They typically work on a sliding scale basis. They are often run by the county. Check in the blue pages of your local phonebook or google your county name coupled with "county mental health".

For medication, check the following website. They are very generous as far as the financial requirements for assistance:

go to your local state medical hospital. Let them know you need to see a psych doctor for whatever your feeling. Hospitals by law cannot turn you away. They will give a psych evaluation and set you up with therapy sessions and your state will pay for it.
Depends on the state you live in and your age. More information and I could try to help you.
