I'm afraid I might be bi-polar...?

Question:
I get inexplicably angry, it's gotten worse as I get older. Sometimes I get depressed for days, I'm not interested in sex,and I just don't care what anybody does or doesn't do. Other times I get really excited, I talk really fast, and I feel like I don't have enough to do. I need some advice.

Answers:
When you are talkative, do you NOT NEED sleep? Do you go days on end where only a few hours to no sleep is just a-ok? Do you make reckless decisions that you later regret? Do people comment on how out of character you are acting?

When you are angry, are you only able to sleep intermittently a few hours a night for days and days on end no matter how much you try to get more? Are your thoughts going too fast, and do you feel depressed at the same time?

When you are depressed, do you need to hide in bed or your house? Do you have suicidal ideations?

Do you have close family or relatives with bipolar or clinical, recurrent major depression? Bipolar is virtually always inherited.

Bipolar moods states almost always go on for at least 3 weeks to months on end. There is a form where switching is more frequent, but it is very rare. Dramatic mood changes daily or every few days, is more a sign of borderline personality disorder than bipolar. More often, it is something else more easily managed.

Seeing a psychiatrist to discuss your symptoms would be a very good idea. Seeing a psychologist or therapist would be an even better one. (Bipolar people responsibly managing their illness see both.) These folks can make an assessment and really help.

I am bipolar and from the little you posted, I would not jump to bipolar as the cause. There are too many other life circumstances and possibilities to rule out first.
i think you shhoul talk with a doctor about your concers but maybe try controllling your mood swings. everyone has mood swings. dont talk yourself into having bi pola! it is a head issue. think positive.
You should go see a doctor if you are worried. I can get kind of like that, but I have an anxiety disorder. In fact, one of my best friends is bipolar and we are definitely very different. There are all kinds of subtleties which define psychological issues, and they call for different treatments, so check with a professional.
hi
I have Bi polar and what you said sounds like me. But I don't talk I shut down and get very angry at the littlest things. I'm very irritable and very unreasonable when people try to talk to me. I have allot of panic attacks I do take medicines that do help. But some days I just want to hide. I cannot do this because I have kids.so Going to my therapist and doctor has help allot in this areas. I hope this helps
Bi-polar disorder is treatable. See your doctor about a referral to your local mental health team. My bi-polar is stable-ish at the moment thanks to meds and talking to my counsellor. I still have mood swings but they're not as bad as a few months ago.
u are just normal , sounds fine to me , find more hobbies
Hi - everyone's answers are good. Get a diagnosis from a reputable psychiatrist who can prescribe the proper meds, if necessary. And ask for a referral to a psychologist or counselor, too. Make sure that you feel comfortable with them both. You really can get help for this. Good luck to you.
