Autism, as a diagnosis, allows your children to receive social security income. Contact the social security office (in your phonebook) and ask them to send you an SSI application (2..one for each child). They will send you release of records forms for your children's doctors. Often they will do an intake interview, after the info from you has been received, over the telephone. The monthly payment amounts are based on your household income and will be direct deposited to your financial institution.
Fortunately, our government and some good minded Congress people, are addressing these exact type of financial questions in Congress now. The biggies being Medicaid and private insurance companies covering very little of the needed therapies for autistic children and their families.
Also, many times local service groups (Lion's Club, Jaycee's, Elks) will also financially help. Easter Seals also provides many services including respite care.

contact the special education department of your local school board. they probably know where you can get services needed for your children.
contact social security.they should both be eligible for SSI...u can find the social security number in the phone book..good luck
