If your going through a manic episode you are more likely to indulge in risk-taking behavior, such as excessive speeding, anything really that is in excessive form and likely to cause you problems socially and with the law.
The prescribed drug interaction with the alcohol could also be fatal. Go easy on the booze.

You'll go absolutely off your rocker. You won't be able to have any control of the way you feel, physically, mentally, or emotionally, until you've waded through the murky hangover.
the symptoms you experience with bi-polar while not drinking will become worse when you mix alcohol with it. that's why they put a no drinking warning on the bottle. besides that you have a chance of a dangerous interaction of the med and the alcohol. it really ins't something that should be done.
well i am 16 and have been bipolar since i was 7 and i dont drink but my friend does and she i bipolar so what i could tell you from her is that for the most part you would just be normalaly intoxicated but if you are one of the people who are an angry drunk then it makes things worse it is easier to make them mad sometimes they might feel depression and alot of simalr side effects
From experience!! You will seem to feel on top of the world and better than anyone when you drink, when you are on a high. I so remember feeling so great, sleeping around and feeling like i was #1. I really did alot of crazy things (crazy). But if you are feeling very sad, then you are going to feel very sad. Cry, feel real bad for yourself, regret alot of things you have done. And that sucks. It makes you feel like ****. If you do decide to drink, make sure you feel good, no meds., and just becareful. Being Bi Polar sucks. I am taking adderall right now and other meds., but it helps alot. Puts me in a great mood. But the best thing to do is really not DRINK. I know it is hard. Good luck. I have a lot of life experience, so feel free to ask. I never lie.
If off my meds my drinking is excessive and so is my behavior. I'm mostly a fun-loving drinker, but challenge or provoke me and I tend to take things to a new, unexpected, and unpleasant level. While on meds I'm far more even tempered, can drink moderately and socially.
There are not side effects to being bipolar, bipolar is the side effect. Drinking is just going to make it worse. If you're high and feeling good, the alcohol will enhance it and make it seem better than ever. And when it subsides the low will be worse than ever. If you're all ready low and you turn to alcohol, it could be very low, so much so you might be glad to sober up again.
If you're friend is determined to drink all the while knowing they're bipolar there probably isn't anything anyone can say to make them do otherwise. If it goes bad, they all ready knew they're bipolar, why did they do it in the first place(?) And this is the way of the bipolar. Once the mood sets in, it can be hard to turn it off. It's a rollercoaster and nothing stops the rollercoaster, there are just days when you enjoy it more. And there are days when you enjoy it less. And then again, there are days when you just stay sober.
