What is happening in my mind?
Question:
Now my focus, concentration, whatever is completely gone. I cannot sit still (it took me five hours of stop/pause to watch the Simpsons) and my cleaning has become obsessive. Everything has to be just so, and I mean just so. When I see dust or a plate out or a bed unmade I'd like to weep and this cloud of pain just comes over me where I can see nothing but the pigstye that is the house (it's not though, I mean I clean and clear up every day, but it feels it at those times). This happens at least once a day, along with lengthy wondering if I'm going to leave the house or not. Feeling passes when I manage to calm somehow but when alone I can hardly manage it. What's up?

Go to a psychiatrist. See your gp for a referral if need be, but do not be treated by your gp. Why? You probably have one of two things going on -- depression and anxiety or a form of bipolar disorder, type II to be more specific. Hypomania (subthreshhold mania characteristic of BDII) can be difficult to distinguish from anxiety. Most gp's will go with the anxiety diagnosis and hand you some anti-depressants. The problem is that if you in fact are bipolar, the anti-depressants either will only work briefly, not work, or switch you to hypomania, mania, or a mixed state. Average time to proper diagnosis for BDII is 10 years, 10 miserable years.
What you're describing already sounds like a mild mixed state or agitated depression. Mild OCD is a symptom of hypomania/mania. Irritability is, too, and so is confused thinking. Feeling depressed at the same time is what would make it a mixed state. Also, first degree relatives with BD or MDD are almost always part of the picture.
How are you sleeping? Not well and not much is another BDII indicator. Are your thoughts happening a little too fast?
No one here can diagnose you, but here are a few websites to check out:

FWIW, I have bipolar and was misdiagnosed as MDD too long. This is the first time I have suggested that someone on Y/A does in fact have bipolar symptoms. If I'm wrong, may be the case, there will be no harm done by seeing a competent psychiatrist. Besides, s/he can help with depression and anxiety plus give you a referral to a therapist.
Go to a psychiatrist! He or she can prescribe a medicine that will make you feel better.
Good luck! &hearts
Go and see your doctor who will probably refer you to a specialist, they will be able to give you better advice than you will find on the internet and you can see them face-to-face. You'll probably need meds or something because without help this may get worse. Im bnot being horrible but i was just wondering how long it took you to type this question?
You do need help. Try your GP first and ask to have some council ling or to see a specialist. Hoping you feel better soon but please ask for help.
Time to see a Dr and get a referral to an appropriate person to help you - I sort of went through all this except for the obsessive compulsive thing - I ended up on mood stabilising drugs and anti depressants and eventually I was able to start leaving the house again - I was later able to stop the mood stabilisers and the valium to stop the panic attacks - I still take the anti depressants but things are alot better now - this sort of thing doesnt always just go away on its own sometimes you need some help - also in understanding what you are living with - putting a name to things can be a help especially when you can research it and learn how to live with it and how to get over it (if its possible)
Hit your head against the wall for about an hour, trust me it works
bless your heart. sounds like you have anxiety. go to a doctor and suggest that you get on prozac (the generic form is available for 4$ at walmart and target) 10 mg 1x a day in the morning, or 20 mg every other day...and get a precription for buspar too..take 10 mg 3-4 x a day. ask your doctor for this and give it some time, and see a therapist on the side to vent your thoughts and feelings.
It's anxiety 100%. I've been there. Not a pleasant feeling, although completely harmless. Don't give in to your anxiety. when you have thoughts of going outside or doing other activities, do it! Change up your diet a bit (eat healthy, little sugar and preservatives) Working/meditation everyday would be even better. You need to break out of this anxious cycle no matter how hard or scary as it seems. GET UP AND GET BUSY LIVING! Once you recover, there is no turning back. You will feel and have the ability to think better than ever!
p.s- might want to try some omega supplements during the recovery process.
