Why does Anafranil work for OCD while Amitriptyline is noted not useful for OCD?

Question:
they are both in the same catagory of drugs called Tryciclic antidepressants.

Answers:
I think its to do with norepinephrine. Clomipramine works as norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor and some serotonin too. Amitriptyline is primarily serotonin but also some norepinephrine aswell. Different chemicals hit different receptors and work in different ways
