Cognitive therapy teaches that our thoughts are what cause our feelings/emotions. Cognitive therapy is awesome.
try the phonebook, it depends where you are.. but there are often health counseling assosiations etc.. in various areas.. depression is probably one of the because it is so common.
I don't know where you live but in Canada, and most likely the states but I say that carefully, you only need ask your family doctor for a referal. He/she may ask you questions about your specific concerns so he can refer you to the person who can best suit your needs, in his opinon.
If you are in crisis (not saying you are but in the event that you ever are and need immediate care) go to emerg and they can get you in to see someone right away if it is urgently needed.
I don't know which one is best for you. You may want to try one method and if it doesn't work, just try another.
