Answers:
These are things you need to ask your lawyer- BUT if you miss your hearing either it gets dismissed or postponed and you have wait MONTHS for a new hearing.
Probably most importantly whether you have a legitamite problem...Unfortunately if they feel your problem can be put at bay using drugs then they wont consider it. You will need as many doctors notes as possible..eg)Psychiatrists, Psychologists, family doctor. Tests and scans for visual proof. Medications that you've used (proof of lenghts of usage)and that have obviously completely failed to help you. I know its quite hard to get this unless you are physically disabled or have a clear mental disability like cerebal pulsy, downsyndrome...etc goodluck
Discuss this over with your lawyer. I know that they will look to see how your disability affects your daily living. And how impaired you are. It is not the diagnoses they look at, but how the disability interferes with your daily functioning. How well you get a long with others, your understanding and following directions, your ability to take care of yourself and daily needs, ability to focus, hospitalizations, treatment for the illness.
They want to know if the illness will last more then a year and if you are able to perform substantial gainful activity.
They look at your past work history, and try to see how serious the disability is.
I would not miss the hearing at all because they could dismiss it and you would have to start all over.
