Anyone taking Zyprexa? Especially women?

Question:
I have found that I gained weight and was sleeping a lot more. But Zyprexa also helped with my moods, ie. I no longer had a melt-down the week before my period and am hardly ever in a bad mood (which I used to be in one perpetually). Zyprexa has also helped with my period (less cramps, lighter flow, shorter duration). I'm on 10mg, down from 20mg a year ago. Anyone else with similar or different experiences? What dosage are you on and has it helped you?

Answers:
I used zyprexa for awhile. It is one of the hardest medicines I have ever used and I felt I couldn't tolerate it. I have read some research that it is a medicine that grows new brain cells. I don't know if that is true or not. I always read horror stories about it on the internet, but I suspect these stories are imagined. I noticed after using it I was much improved. I think that if you can tolerate it that you should use it. Also there is the claim that it causes diabetes, but I think the type it causes is related to a persons diet and not a direct result of the medicine. On the other hand, even if it does cause diabetes the benefit outweighs the risk because diabetes is treatable. When a person loses their mind they lose themselves. Another thing that I feel is important is to trust the doctor, take the medicine as prescribed, never share it with anyone and in time you may get better to where you can help yourself and recognise what caused you to be sick and find ways of helping others so they never become sick.
you list many good and bad side effects of zyprexa. there are meds beside zyprexa to help.
