Can't sleep!?

Try a few lifestyle changes first and if your insomnia doesn't go away you need to see your doctor.
First although you didn't sleep all night do not take a nap during the day time. That way when its time to sleep at night you'll be so exhausted hopefully you'll fall asleep. You need to get yourself into a regular schedule. Go to bed around the same time every night and get up in the morning around the same time every night. (Also when you do start sleeping again make sure not to oversleep, sleep about 8 hours and then make yourself get up).
Second start an exercise routine. It's a proven fact that people who exercise sleep much better and fall asleep faster.
Third don't eat anything for at least 2 hours before you go to bed, but also don't go to bed starving, you'll never be able to sleep with a growling stomach.
Fourth don't consume anything with caffeine in it about 6 hours before you know you will be going to bed. Caffeine blocks receptors that receive a chemical that tells us we are tired. So you need to have all caffeine out of your system before you try to sleep.
Hope this helped! Good luck!
Drink heavily.
Keep on counting , 1 sheep to maybe a lot of sheep . Or try to close your eyes .
If you drink coffee, pop or other foods that contain caffeine try not to ingest them after a certain time, say 2:00 p.m. Caffeine can cause insomnia. Also if you eat a lot refined carbohydrates (white bread and sugars) that could be part of the problem. Try limiting your sugar intake. Then again it might just be stress. Some mind calming activities such as yoga or meditation might help. Good luck!
1) do not sleep late. get up at 7 no matter what time you go to sleep. 2) no naps during the day 3) if that doesnt put you to sleep at the regular time in 2 or 3 days try taking a benedryl about 8 p.m. to make yourself drowsy. You may have to do this for 2 or 3 days to train your body to going back to sleeping at night.
see your doctor
How old are you? Do you drink a lot of colas/caffinated beverages? What is your bedtime routine? What time do you get up in the morning? These are many things that can affect your sleep habits. Try not to eat or drink anything after 6pm. Take a warm bath or shower before bed. Don't watch tv or anything else in your room. Make sure you have relaxing down time before your bedtime. If these don't help, you need to talk to someone other than your mom, because sometimes it can be a sign of something more serious. Besides, it is bad for your health to not get good sleep. It's when our body restores itself. I hope some of this helps!
you may be suffering from a sleep disorder. go consult a doctor to be sure.
try not taking much sugary snacks after dinner because this adds energy to your body and your body will not be able to fall asleep because it does not need to conserve much energy since youve got heaps due to the snacks you ate.
Try eating low calorie foods like cheese or bread but i think a warm cuppa soups the best because thats warms the stomach making you more relaxed. This also works for a hot chocolate of just plane milk!
also are you always sweating when your sleeping?, if you sweat while you sleep, beleive me IT IS ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE to sleep so try taking your blanket off. Just remember its better to be cold when sleeping then hot or at times even warm/hot
I found that if I try to concentrate on keeping all thoughts from entering my mind I fall asleep quickly. This also teachs you to concentrate better and control your thoughts. This takes practice too. No better time than when you are trying to sleep.
If this doesn't work for you, try two 25mg. of allergy over the counter medication, called Benedryal or Walmart sells Equate, which is the same thing and much less expensive. I pay around $5.00 for 100 capsules. It is harmless and no side effects. This will help you sleep, if the all natural way doesn't.
Happy sleeping!
sometimes the melatonin that is made in our brain gets out of wack, I have the same problem often. do not drink caffeine after 3 pm and yo could try taking melatonin (found in the vitamin section at drug stores) at night to help you sleep. It is not addictive like Rx drugs. Waking up at a regular time each day and not exercising at least four hours before bed is also important. Some people just have irregular sleep cycles though and you may find that soon you return to regular.
well last time I went through this my doctor told me that when my body is tired I will fall asleep. but the key for me was staying active even when tired. eventually you just get rid of the restless energy and can sleep. try figuring out what is going on in your head, if you have unresolved issues or chores or whatever, this can keep your brain from relaxing enough to sleep, also have you tried any controled breathing exercises? if not check into meditation or stress relief breathing exercises...good luck
I cant sleep either most of the time, ive been this way for a while. What I do is simple and it helps. A loud fan blowing will help you. It like white noise, it drowns out everything and puts you in a trance and you just go right to sleep. I have slept with a fan for noise for like 5 years nows. It helps, but I will probably have to do it the rest of my life. Try it, it really does help.
masterbate
Try eating before 6 PM. Exercise in the morning. Take Melatonin.
Go see a doc if you need to.
