Why do I keep losing things and finding them in odd locations?

Question:
Recently I have been losing things a lot. These are things that are rather special or important to me (retainer, mp3 player, etc...). For example, a few weeks ago I awoke without my retainer in my mouth (which isobviously where its supposed to be). Several days later it was found UNDER that BED, UNDER an old toy. There is no explanation for how it got there. It would be hard enough for it to come out of my mouth.

Another example occured just yesterday (and I haven't found the the thing yet!). I was cleaning my room, specifically the floor. I knew exactly where my mp3 player was. I could see it. I went downstairs to refresh myself, and then came back up. I decided I wanted to listen my music, so I went to grab my player. I went to right where it was SUPPOSED to be. Yet it wasn't. I have searched the entire area...without any luck.

Is there ANY explanation for this at all? Am I going crazy? Is my mind playing tricks? Anything at all would be appreciated. This is a terrible feeling!

Is someone else by any chance hiding your items??
OMG, I had to lol, I do this all the time, we joke around here that we have a ghost who likes to play jokes on us.
Seriously though, I think when this happens that our minds are deep in thought , or in my case, it's gotta be the meds ;)
Just laugh it off, and maybe try to stay a little more focused on the here & now.
HELLO ANDRUW,
No honey, I do not think you are going crazy...I couldn't find my purse last year and I looked everywhere I could think of and come to find out..it was in the refrigerator...I had been grocery shopping and while putting the food away I accidentally put my purse in there as well. So,to make a long story short, I had been really preoccupied that day and unthinkingly put it in the fridge...I think that is what is happening with you..excessive preoccupation with something...I hope this has been helpful to you..Good luck and God bless.
do you have a younger sibling that likes to play pranks on you?

Do you ever feel like there is a presence in your room other than you? Maybe your room is haunted by a poltergeist, lol.

Other than that, there is one other possibility... do you sleep walk? Have you ever forgotten a whole stretch of time (as in, you go downstairs at 8 am and then you don't remember how you got back upstairs and it's two hours later)? You may be having a sleep issue, or something medical that is affecting your neurological health.

Keep track of what keeps happening and when it happens. Then tell your mom & dad and see what they say. If you are not as young as I'm thinking you are - then just tell your doctor.

Better organize your room while you are at it. You shouldn't leave your MP3 on the floor. If you have a pet, the pet could get a hold of it and believe me, they love to chew up electronics. I've lost one set of $40 earbuds that way. The bottom line is, if you are highly organized (ie, a place for everything and everything in its place) and the mysterious stuff keeps happening, then you know that there is something else at play.
Ha ha this happens to me all the time! In fact it gets so bad that i blame other people for it.

"WHY DID YOU MOVE THIS!"

"um. I didn't touch it."

"YES YOU DID I KNOW IT!"

It is awful so now when i look for something and i can't find it i just forget about it for a day or a few hours and then look again. Unless it's my car key in which case watch out!
Hi:

This may seem an odd answer, but you might actually have a ghost. I've heard about them moving things around like that - especially your retainer location. You might be having some memory issues, and I think everyone has issues like that. Try to really think about what you are doing more and maybe that would help. When something is in a slightly normal location, you might have placed it there absentmindly, but if it's in a really odd place, you might have that ghost. Some people may find this crazy, but about 1 in 4 people have actually had something weird happen to them. Hope this helps.
Lol wow, reading all these things in the mental health section is really making my life much better, hahahaha, okay, anyway, you must want your answer. Someone could be ******* with you, or, you may have been moving things without notice, and while you were realy tired. cause most of the time, you'll have absolutely no recollection of the previous day, like for example, i read a book for hours and hours, and after the next day, i barely remember the plot to the story. I highly doubt your going crazy though, hehe
