What are the premorbid personality traits of people who suffer obsessive compulsive disorders?

Question:

Answers:
Although you cannot pinpoint or predict what personality characteristics may lead to obsessive-compulsive disorder, some factor that may play a role are a parent who is obsessive-compulsive, very organized, driven to success, a perfectionist, a parent like that who seeks to instill these qualities in her child. If a child is compliant, he may seek his parent's approval and develop these charactersitics himself.
Another factor that has played a role in OCD is an overconcern with cleanliness, disease, and avoiding possible illness or death. A sub-factor or concomitant factor may be a feeling that one must control things to ensure safety and/or dominance.
I don't think I have exhausted the possibilities, but I have exhausted myself for now.
