How much does therapy/ psychological consultation cost?

Question:
If it helps, i live in toronto.

Answers:
In the US, PhD level psychologists charge anywhere from $100-$150 per 50 minute session.

MS level therapists charge $80-$120 per 50 minute session.

Insurance usually covers mental health, so you will just have a copay. Mine is $25 per session.
It depends on whether or not you have health insurance. I paid 6.00 for co-pay but she charged about 75.00 for 45 min...or something to that effect...
First, paying more does not mean better therapy...way that notion into the cost :) With insurance, there is usually a copay, and if you have a health insurance, you need to check the provider list. If money is the main barrier to access, it would not be a bad idea to pick up the phone and shop for a therapist...some have sliding fees. I always have 1-2 freebies on my schedule, because I believe it's ethical to give something back...other therapist may do the same.
