Do i have depression?

my opinion, it sounds like your a younger student, and I believe everyone goes through a phase somewhere in the teen years thinking their a loser, down on themselves all the time. ect... I guess you could call that depression, but clinically diagnosed depression is not usually found until at least young adulthood. You could take meds, but all meds have side effects aswell. Your best solution is to talk to a loved one, about your mom perhaps? or any issues your dealing with. There's no way to test for clinical (chemically imbalanced) depression yet, so your gonna have to try and not own your mom's history with depression. You are your own person, and you make your own decisions. See an MD if you can't resolve feeling bad over an extended period of time.
I dont think you are suffering from depression. All you are feeling is a little bit low. Cheer up. Take a holiday. Do something which you like the most. You will tackle yr subjects with renewed vigour.
You could very well be depressed, or you may simply need to talk with someone to find out what is bothering you. In either case, you would do well to seek the expertise and guidance of a professional.
I think that you should know that I am not a health care professional in any way. By the things you described you might be depressed. I only say that because of the long periods of sadness and mood swings. I am depressed and I do the exact same thing. Get help. Are your parents/guardians supportive? Then go them and tell them that you want to see a therapist (depending on how old you are; if you are old enough to not have to include parents then do it on your own). People who don't understand depression won't understand why you are depressed. When I was 13 or so I told my mother that I needed to see a therapist. She said I don't need to see a therapist and when I suggested that I should just go to make sure she screamed at me. At 15 I tried to kill myself. I am now 19. No one should have to live with this so please get help. It is only going to get worst.
It is possible you are suffering from depression.
Go to your GP and discuss it with them, they will be able to refer you for counselling and possibly consider medication.
It does sound like something is going on. If you've felt this way for a while and you have a family history you should talk to someone about it. Have you lost interest in things you used to love? Do you just feel like you don't care about anything anymore? Depression can present itself in many different ways for different people. I'm not saying you're depressed, though! I'm just saying as someone who is currently suffering from depression & anxiety that the first thing you have to do is talk to someone who is equipped to help you like a guidance counselor, a teacher, your parents. For me it was scary to make the first step & talk to a therapist, but let me tell you that if it keeps going on & gets worse you can't fix this by yourself. It helps ALOT to have someone you feel comfortable with to talk to. You are the best judge of how you feel. So, if you really feel you haven't been yourself & this has been going on for longer than "just going through a slump" then I really reccomend talking about it. Don't keep it to yourself. You can also check out www.psychologytoday.com they have lots of self assessment quizes (it is not a medical diagnosis) but it can help you get a feel to how serious it is. Hope that helps!
i dont think you have depression i think that your just gettin board and sick and tired of everythin latly i got it when i was at school and all i wanted to do was lie in bed all day so dont worrie you should be ok BUT if you do start to get very bad feelings and you start lashing out at other or yourself make sure you consult a doc they BUT ALWAYS remember it will be on your medical record and it could poss make it harder to get a job ect ok xx
Sounds like it may be what we commonly call depression, however, I am not sure if you meet criteria for a major depressive disorder. How long has been?
I am not sure if you have depression or not sounds almost like you are just burnt out on school right now. add a punch to your life for a hour a day and do something you like and have fun doing it, if things dont change for you see a doctor
Could be depression, could also be anemia (I've had both and some of the symptoms are the same.) See your doctor and get checked out. It could be something completely different, but you won't know till you go.
If he/she doesn't find anything wrong, at least you'll know you don't have any of those things and you'll be relieved of one worry.
