Lexapro and Paxil Weight gain?

If i gained weight on lexapro ( 35 lbs) what are my chances of gaining weight on paxil? I was on lexapro for a year but was too expensive. My doctor put me on paxil because its on the 4 $ walmart list. I am just soo worried about gaining more weight and having long term issues with this medicine! Please help me

Check the drug's official website. Since both are SSRI's they could yield similar results, although molecularly they are different. This might lead to a dead-end though, since they list about 40 things that "could be" side effects. You may have to just wait and see. Good luck!
Drugs work differently on different people. For example I know someone that lost 50 pounds while on Lexapro. I have not heard good things about Paxil from anybody who has taken it.
I take paxil and not gained any weight so for 7 months
You will most likely gain more weight on Paxil. Lexapro is supposed to be more "weight neutral" than the other SSRI's. Lexapro is newer and is generally supposed to have less side effects and weight gain. I know a lot of people that have switched from Paxil to Lexapro. I'm currently on Lexapro and haven't gained any weight.
