This is another way to self harm. Self-injurious usually indicates that somewhere along the line, you didn't learn good ways of coping with overwhelming feelings. This does not make you disgusting or sick, you just never learned positive ways to deal with your feelings. Your friend should get some therapy to relearn ways of coping with overwhelming feelings.
never heard of it before and your friend needs professional help
pos just her way of relieving anger/ pain of some sort thats deep inside
she needs prof help
It is another form of self mutilation. She needs to seek some professional help!
Yes, it is another form of self abuse..she really needs to seek counseling. People with high tresholds of pain seem to do this more than others, she needs to find out why she is hurting herself, what is her need to punish herself? why? as a friend you can help her to understand and stop. talk to her about her past and why she feels the need to feel pain? Hope you can help her...
your friend needs help. she's just trading one form of self mutilation for another.
please talk to her about getting help. she needs to learn how to stop hurting herself.
you're a good friend for being concerned about her. so encourage her to get the help that she desperately needs.
it's not her fault.
Best Wishes.
There is a myth that the only kind of self harm-coping is cutting. I used to cut, burn, and smash myself against things. Other people have other ways of hurting themselves. These are all backwards ways of coping. Your friend needs help. Talk to your folks. If they are no help, call the hotlines in your area that deal with troubled teens.
