I am Suddenly going crazy??!!?
Question:
I really don't know when all this started, within the last year, I find myself obsessing over things.
I can't travel anymore ... hotel rooms send me spiraling. the saddest thing of all ... I love going placing, see cool things, but the thought of using a room that million have used sends me to the edge.
Bathrooms ... ugh ... oh my gosh ... this is how bad it is ... if I walk past our bathroom and see the toilet seat is up or the door left open ... my mind starts to loop. I could be in the basement and if I know that damned toilet seat is left up way up on the third floor ... then I obsess and freak out until I go and put it down.
Life is becoming more absurd to me ... people are just weirding me out at times ... I have a surreal, freaked out experiences as I am waiting for my order of fries.
I was recently put on lexipro after a try with wellburtrin and prozac.
WHAT IN THE HELL IS WRONG WITH ME!
Thanks --- trying to stay sane!

it sounds like ocd and other anxiety issues. I feel the same way. I'm on lexapro. talk to the doctor who prescribed your drugs if you want a diagnosis. if you havent' spoken with a therapist yet, try that. they can help you learn coping mechnisms. you aren't going crazy.
OCD, yo. . .find yourself a therapist or psychologist
i agree. i usta be like that but about gurms. they creeped me out i washed my hands when ever i thuched anything that might be gurmy and forget about useing other peoples bath rooms. how long where you on prozac? iv been on it for 8 months and im doing much better.
I'm no psychological expert, but what you describe sounds like Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. The mind-looping thing is a primary characteristic of it.
But, of course, there is a lot of information we can't possibly have on this forum that a psychologist would be able to help you with.
And no, I don't think you're crazy.
Definitely get tested for OCD (Obsessive-Compulsive disorder). Could be a form of anxiety as well. Just remember, we are not doctors on here, you should see yours about this.
Good luck!
;)
It sounds to me like you have developed OCD (obsessive compulsive disorder). There really is no good way to get rid of it besides facing your fear (leave the toilet seat up, spend a week in a hotel, anything that you can't stand to do) or go see a therapist. You may have to do both.
OCD and probably a few other things like anxiety just beginning and you don't recognize it yet.
I can tell you that people who travel feel the same way, b ut instead of freaking they bring their pillows from home and two sheets, then they do not use the comforter at all. They use the new spray from clorox that is a safe spray that you can hit the whole room with and it kills all germs and lets you feel that you did something. Sometimes making the extra evvort to actually do something instead of freak or complain, will make the feeling subside.
I would get some xanax because the way you are setting your emotional self up, you will need anxiety medicine in the not too future.
It sounds like you haven't found the right meds. I'm a fellow sufferer of depression and anxiety. But I don't have OCD like you. There are SO many meds, you have to keep trying untill you find the right one(s). See your doctor and tell him/her EVERYTHING you wrote in your question. In fact, you should just print it out. I don't know what meds are best for your problems. Don't give up. Keep trying tilll you get the right ones for you. I hope you have trust in your doctor. If not, start over with a new one. You might want to try a psychiatrist. They are MDs, and write prescriptions. See if your doctor recommends one. It took me 7 tries to find the right combination. I think Klonopin is a wonder drug. Just be sure to tell all doctors everything. Good luck to you. You'll be in my prayers tonight. :) I know you'll be ok.
It sounds like you have had an onset of OCD, or Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. Maybe a touch of GAD, or Generalized Anxiety Disorder as well. A lot of times, meds like Lexapro or Prozac will help. How long did you try these meds for? Generally with a med like one of those, it takes from 2-6 weeks for you to notice a difference. The best thing you can do is see your physician and take any medications he or she prescribes, as directed. You have to take the meds for at least 6 weeks before you can decipher whether or not they are helping you. I could give you a lot more info on these disorders if you'd like. You can reach me at sugnme82@yahoo.com, this is my personal email address. Also you could google the names of each, and you could learn a lot of valuable information from the internet. Good luck!
Why not bring your own sheets & pillow? Hotels usually don't mind this.
Toilet seat up? Ok, that's an old one. For years, we women have been complaining to the men to "put it down!" As long as it's down when YOU have to go, why worry about it! That's just perfectionism at it's finest! Perfectionism is one trait of OCD!
Also, are you eating healthy?
