Answers:
talk to your doc or guidence counselor
Sometimes a chemical imbalance in the brain can cause you to feel depressed. You may also have a vitamin B deficiency. Talk to a school counselor or anyone who will listen. You may not be depressed, just fed up with home life. Talk to your parents.
sound like a majority of teenagers to be honest. its normal, but you need to see a mentor or someone with sound guideance to ask these questions, and asure you with your feelings, so that you know what you feel and are doing is right and continue with what you are doing. If those correct feeling are not reinforced you will wonder to other couses of action, right or wrong, to get a responce from somebody. That will lead you down a long hard path. You are learning and growing. Get help from a mentor to let you know you're normal.
Depression is all about friends and family.
Well, i think that if you're depressed that you would feel like even being with your friends is less fun. when you're depressed the things that you used to love.
you should know that your family loves you, and that if your family has put up with you for 16 years that they feel close to you. you need to allow yourself to become close to them. As for as you being depressed, only you can answer that question.
This is somewhat normal for someone your age and I actually felt the same way when I was 16. I was always depressed at home and a completely different person around friends. Many kids your age go through depression because your serotonin levels (chemical in your brain that helps you not feel depressed) are lowered when you have hormonal changes. I would try talking to a counselor, (I know that is cliche) and also try exercising and eating more high carb foods and cheeses. I hope you feel better!
i can relate to you totally! i wouldnt say you are depressed, you just have this feeling that all families get along and understand eachother, and since you dont with your family, you feel a bit "Off".
i have a few questions...first of all, do you talk and get along with your friends parents? if so, you have all you need, adults and friends that you can talk to.
please don't feel bad that you dont fit in with your family...in fact, it makes me think you are a special soul, especially because you care that you are different.
i would suggest that you stop thinking negatively, and focus on tyhe good: you have great friends, make their family your second one(thats what my brother and i did, for we didnt fit in our family).
i have lots more to say about this, e-mail me if you want, or messenger...i went through everything you are!
You need to find the main reason you're feeling this way. If it is because of your parents or anyone in your family, you need to sit down & have a good talk with them about the way you're feeling...
It sounds like a lot of 16 year olds.
If you were depressed, it'd be hard to miss.
You feel sad, tired, lethargic all day.
You don't do they things you loved doing before.
You withdrawal from friends.
Eating and sleeping habits change.

No one can diagnose you with depression except a doctor. And depression is different for everyone. They'll give you a test to fill out, send it in, and get the results back. (That's how I was diagnosed)

Your best bet is to talk to a doctor.
you're not depressed, just lacking something, and you need to find what that is. whether it be a hobby or activity, it will fill you with the inspiration you need. as far as your family goes, every 16 yr old goes through that, but eventually you will find a peace with them. hopefully you arent being abused. I pray you find that something that completes you, and no longer feel this way. Im rootin for you!
