Even though it's horrible to you, one seizure per year is probably not enough to get you on disability. However, since you have an anxiety problem, if it's severe enough to where it interfares with your life and job, talk to your doctor about it and see if the option is open to you. If it is, your doctor can help you get the ball rolling, so to speak.
One seizure a year is pretty good. This would be considered under control. It is not easy to get disability. It took me two years and I have several chronic conditions, Lupus, Migraine, asthma, hypoglycemia, just to name a few.
you will have to talk to your Dr about it as there is a certain amount of times the seizures have to occur for disability==but ,if they interfere with your working you might qualify and only your Dr can prove this for you
I think that if you've only had ten seizures in ten years that would be considered to have them pretty much under control and in those circumstances you might have a problem. Because one of the things that they ask is for information from you doctor that primarily deals with your condition. Your neurologist would have to state how many seizures that you've had while under their care.
Gran Mals are a big deal. You'll have to have a doctor show you have a legitimate disability, and one that prevents you from normal functioning (like working 40 hours a week.) Beyond that, it shouldn't be a problem, just a matter of filing.
Go to SocialSecurity.gov (or Google for the link) Find the list of diseases and conditions that they cover and what the stipulations are for each. Yours will be under neurological. See what you meet of this these. It will give you info how to proceed. Best to you.
