Answers:
Hi, sorry to hear you are feeling so bad. No, you're not a complete wuss! The following steps will eliminate (or at least significantly reduce) your panic attacks:

1.Breathe properly - if you control your breathing, you control panic. As soon as you notice the signs of anxiety, check your breathing: breathe in slowly through your nose pushing your tummy out (to the count of 5 or so). Breathe out slowly and for a bit longer (to the count of 7 or so) through your mouth. Do not breathe rapidly or shallowly (in the chest area). This will soon restore the balance of oxygen and you will feel a lot better.

2. Cognitive Behavioural Therapy! CBT is proven to be the most effective thing for panic attacks, OCD and anxiety etc. It takes a bit of work, but it is super effective. (After 15 years of panic attacks, mine stopped completely). You can speak to your doctor about taking a course or you can take a course for free online at: www.livinglifetothefull.com You can get special CBT workbooks for children. You could try ‘Think Good - Feel Good: A Cognitive Behaviour Therapy Workbook for Children and Young People’ by Paul Stallard

3. Try relaxation exercise tapes (progressive muscular relaxation). They really help if you practise often enough. You can get free downloads if you put "progressive muscle relaxation" into Google (e.g. lots of universities have them as free downloads)

With each step practise makes perfect. (i.e. practise the steps every day, not just when you are feeling bad). It would be good to get your parents to take your panic attacks seriously - you could do with the support. How about printing this page out and showing them? I hope you feel better soon. Best of luck!
You have to tell to your parents, honey..and see a doctor.
The business of being almost run off the road could scare anyone.
Having panic attacks doesn't make you a wussy. It's possible to control them. One of the most important things to remember is that they won't kill you and that they always go away. There are many techniques you can use. You can count your pulse. Keep counting until the panic attack goes away - this is a distraction technique. Some people breathe into a paper bag - this controls hyperventilating. If you have to, curl up on a couch or under the covers. In public, go into the nearest rest room.
Some people need anti-anxiety drugs. These do work, but they tend to become less effective over time. Cognitive behavioral therapy is best. You can learn it from a book - it's putting it into practice that's the hard part. Good luck!
i think that it is normal to be scared. most of the time i have panic attacks for the phone ringing in the middle of night.

so to me your case is not that big of a deal.
It's normal to feel frightened in a scary situation that you have no control over. This is not a panic attack.
The last thing you said said it all.
Common in panic attacks.
Seriously, the ONLY thing that helped me get rid of them completely was finding Jesus Christ.
Everytime I started having one, I literally began to pray to Him, or read my Bible.
I'm never troubled anymore.
