Answers:
The lesser of two evils would have to be anorexia, IMO. I've had both conditions, and the binge/purge/vomit cyle of bulimia was physically more harmful.
I choose anorexia.
There both bad, but if I had to choose.
i think bulimia because it can ruin your teeth and esophogus and everything
bulimia.

i think bulimia would be harder to fix than anorexia
I am just fat and happy.
bulemia ruins the muscles in your stomach and you asophagus. Also the enamel on your teeth. They both are bad but bulemia effects other parts of your body.
Both are horrible, but I think bulimia is worse.
I dont know honestly. Both are very bad. Bulimia is the worst probably. The puke can dissolve teeth
I think I'd say that bulimia is more dangerous, because all the vomiting messes with your heart and body's electrolytes. But anorexia (especially very severe cases of it) can also be very deadly, leading to permanent body damage.

Some ED's though are a mixture of bulimic and anorexic behavior and almost all of them are dangerous.
Bulimia. It can harm your esophogus and wear away tooth enamel.
I beleive Bulimia is worse than anorexia because Bulimia is for personal purposes...

Anorexia is a phycological condition
You can die from both so that's why it's hard to say exactly which one is worse, but if I had to choose I would probably say Bulimia.
anorexia is worst because of what it puts the body through and the end result can be death.
bulimia...throwing up so much can burn through the throat
I would say Anorixia... and i would check with a 1-800 private teen help line for that answer... they can help you answer more questions and provide with help confidentially .. espeically if the person is embarrassed or afraid to talk in person
I say anorexia because well, I had it. I didnt feel hungry, but I felt weak, tired, and alone. Very depressed as well, VERY. The day they told me I had to go to the hospital was the day I quit torturing myself. It felt like a huge weight was lifted off my shoulders and now Im happier because I get to do sports.
They can potentially kill you - why on earth would you ask which one people think is 'better'?
Both anorexia and bulemia are life threating illnesses. Which is worse? They are equally as fatal. Both lead to very painful
ailments and both have very nasty side affects for the sufferer along the way. They also, are both as equally devastating to the family of the victim and the people who love them. There
are better ways of losing weight and keeping it off. Ways which actually allow you to live long enough to enjoy your new shape.
Both are really horrible for the sufferer, but with the right treatment, and psychological as well as clinical help can be treated well. I have studied eating disorders slightly in my AS Level Psychology - weighing out the problems both are just as bad as each other really, I hope you are not suffering with either of these, and if you are - I am more than prepared to talk to you through mail :) It's always best to have someone to trust and talk to :) Hope this helped!
I think that bulliema is worse. Anorexia involves the body shutting itself down through not having energy for basic functions (e.g mensturation, joint movement, etc). That is bad enough. But, bulliema means the body not only shuts down normal functioning, but it also reprogrammes itself. Rather than eat sensibly and use the food as energy, the sufferer binges, then vomits or takes laxitives. meaning that it takes longer to recover. The habit is harder to break and, perhaps even worse, the damage that is done is awful.

If you want advice, speak to your doctor. Sounds cliche, but the NHS is duty-bound to help anyone who has even a general query about these things and they will put you in touch with councilors who specialise and which won't cost you a penny.
A medical doctor is needed for this very quickly.
Bulimia is much worse:
Bulimia can result in following health problems:

Malnutrition
Dehydration
Electrolyte imbalance (Can lead to cardiac arrest, which can also result in brain damage by stroke.)
Hyponatremia
Damaging of the voice
Vitamin and mineral deficiencies
Teeth erosion and cavities, gum disease
Sialadenosis (salivary gland swelling)
Potential for gastric rupture during periods of binging
Esophageal reflux
Irritation, inflammation, and possible rupture of the esophagus
Laxative dependence
Peptic ulcers and pancreatitis
Emetic toxicity due to ipecac abuse
Swelling of the face and cheeks, especially apparent in the lower eyelids due to the high pressure of blood in the face during vomiting.
Callused or bruised fingers
Dry or brittle skin, hair, and nails, or hair loss
Lanugo
Edema
Muscle atrophy
Decreased/increased bowel activity
Digestive problems that may be triggered, including Celiac, Crohn's Disease
Low blood pressure, hypotension
Orthostatic hypotension
High blood pressure, hypertension
Iron deficiency
Anemia
Hormonal imbalances
Hyperactivity
Depression
Insomnia
Amenorrhea
Infertility
High risk pregnancy, miscarriage, still-born babies
Diabetes
Elevated blood sugar or hyperglycemia
Ketoacidosis
Osteoporosis
Arthritis
Weakness and fatigue
Chronic Fatigue Syndrome
Cancer of the throat or voice box
Liver failure
Kidney infection and failure
Heart failure, heart arrhythmia, angina
Seizure
Paralysis
Potential death caused by heart attack or heart failure; lung collapse; internal bleeding, stroke, kidney failure, liver failure; pancreatitis, gastric rupture, perforated ulcer, depression and suicide.

Anorexia can cause the following problems:
Extreme weight loss
Endocrine disorder, leading to cessation of periods in girls (amenorrhea)
Starvation symptoms, such as reduced metabolism, slow heart rate (bradycardia), hypotension, hypothermia and anemia
Growth of lanugo hair over the body
Abnormalities of mineral and electrolyte levels in the body
Zinc deficiency
Often a reduction in white blood cell count
Reduced immune system function
Body mass index less than 17.5 in adults, or 85% of expected weight in children
Possibly with pallid complexion and sunken eyes
Creaking joints and bones
Collection of fluid in ankles during the day and around eyes during the night
Constipation
Very dry/chapped lips due to malnutrition
Poor circulation, resulting in common attacks of 'pins and needles' and purple extremities
In cases of extreme weight loss, there can be nerve deterioration, leading to difficulty in moving the feet
Headaches, due to malnutrition
Thinning of the hair
Nails become more brittle
Constantly feeling "cold"
Bruise easily
Dry skin
i choose anorexia, since i can control my food intake...bulimia just wastes food and can leave a bad stomach feeling.
bulimia is probably worse cz it involves self induced vomiting , purging etc. but it does not involve extreme weight loss...so it might be hard to notice...anorexia on the othe hand is obvious...it doesnt require brains to figure it out
They are both horrible. I guess anorexia would be a little worse. since some people live (disgusting lives but live) with bulimia for decades. I have two friends that were bulimic as teenagers (before I knew them) but have recovered. They knew it was stupid at the time that they did it. It seems like bulimics are at least somewhat connected to reality.

The only anorexic I know most likely can not get better now. She is in her twenties and looks like she is in her fifties. Her family tries to be nice and sympathetic when she is around, but behind her back they are angry, fed up and disgusted. Her body just wants to shut down. Her bones are weak and she is stooped over like an old woman. People are embraced to be seen with her. I think a person with bulimia gets more understanding, because it is more similar to a horrible addiction than to being outright crazy.
Anorexia is worse...
with anorexia you dont eat with bulimia you eat but put your fingers down your throat you will also binge eat.i think in the end they are 6 of one and half a dozen of the other.it is really hard to stop being anorexia and bulimia.you really need prof. help.
they are both terrible dangerous mental illnesses. Out of the two, anorexia has the highest fatality rate. Alot of answers on here, says that bulimia is worse because of.etc, well what about anorexia binge/purge subtype? this is the most dangerous eating disorder. There are two subtypes of anorexia nervosa; resetrictive subtype and binge/purge subtype. The binge purge subtype is similar to bulimia and anorexia. The sufferer is underweight, wants to stay underweight, sees him/herself as fat when underweight, but have lost control and given in into the need for food which reuslts in a binge, and the guilt makes the sufferer purge. With anorexia, 1 in 5 will loose their life, but both can be very fatal and consume and temporarily ruin someones life
well there both bad but bullimea is worse because if ur anorrexic ur just anerexic but if ur bullemic u can be anerexic to and dont worry about the confidentiality all doctors or phiciactric help is confidental.
I guess it is annorexia, because the body gets starved from all the nutrients it needs and people can get a stroke easily, as well as organ failure.
Bullimia ruins teeth etc. though the acids coming up (if purging constantly).
Can I ask you why you don't want to see a psychologist? Is it the cost or because you don't trust them?
