Math Problem??
Question:
(a) x^2 = 9
(b) │- x│ = 5
(c) │x + 2│ = 7
(d) x + 7 = 34 - 2x
(e) (x - 3)^2 = 64
Answers:
(a) x=3 or x= -3
(b) x=5
(c) x=5 or x= -9
(d) x=9
(e) x=11 or x= -5
work:
(a) find the square route of 9 which equals three or negative three because a negative times a negative equals a positive
(b) the absolute value of a numbwewr just means how far from 0 it is so -5 is five places away from 0
(c)same thing what plus two equals 7... duh 5 or -9+2=-7 and the absolute value of any number is positive
(d)add 2x to both sides so the -2x cancels and it's 3x+7=34 then divide 7 because you want to get the x by itself and the answer is 9
(e)first find the square route of 64 which is 8 so what -3 is 8 and the answer is 11 or find the square route then what negative number-3= -8 and that's -5
