How do totally stop being over-emotional and clingy?

i assume you're taking meds for your bi-polarness since there's no way to fix it naturally. this will help keep you more stable. however if you are finding that what you're taking now is not keeping you stable enough to lead a normal life you should consult your doctor. if they refuse to try something different with you then get a second, third, fourth opinion from other doctors. what you can do about it yourself is to start constantly paying attention to how you feel and what triggers those feelings in you. try to avoid messy situations if you can but if you can't try to think through the reason you are getting moody or upset. rationalization of this kind is key to getting control over your emtions and also key in making you feel more confident and thus not clingy. its going to take time but if you keep working on it you should be able to change.
I used to feel the same way. Although I am now on anti-depressants, I felt a change before that.
It's about being okay in your own skin. Spend time alone. Go to the mall, on walks, maybe even out for a meal alone. You will see that being by yourself is good, and can even feel freeing.
You don't need ANYONE to make you feel better. You sound like an emotionally and mentally aware person. You are recognizing you have a problem, which is half the battle.
Although at first you may have to fake being okay, eventually you WILL be. Keep a journal. Vent all of your fears and angers into it. Don't hold back. Then you know you have an outlet for all of those feelings you don't want to throw to guys. They get freaked about emotions. But also, when you find the right one, he will work on those emotions with you.
I hope I could help!
Emotion isn't a good indicator of truth. Emotions are not what you are.
Try to analize the emotions that you have. There are good emotions and bad emotions, start to distinguish them and analize them.
Take it easy.
Talk to a therapist. You may only have to see them a couple times to get started on your way.
