I have been thinking, I'm depressed?

Question:
I have been in this situation for the longest time, I have bipolar disorder and I am always depressed, I am always messing things up and I am highly violent and hostile. I want to die. I hate my life and I want to end it. I have made attempts, I also do things hoping that it'll get me killed. I suffer daily, and for people that don't know what its like they tell me to "cheer up and get over it" but I can't. I can't just slap on a smile and pretend that everything is fine. I want to die! I don't know what to do. I just want it to go away. Can anyone help me?

Answers:
your totally not alone, I have been bipolar for 17 years now and it really does seem to be an endless battle to get through each day. I long for the high so that I am not low and the meds mostly don't help much. I think you need to get yourself to the hospital and let them help you. I know it might feel like they can't but even if its just to keep you safe right now then go for that reason. take care good luck
You need "mind over matter". You need to control what you think.
i feel the same way..and i've been worrying that i may have bipolar disorder.

remember YOU ARE NEVER ALONE!
ughhh man.. that sucks. and i understand why the 'just smile' thing wouldn't work

what is it that's making you feel sad? pinpointing that helps. you have to realize there are many important things to life that are probably much more important then the things you suffer over. my mom was depressed for a while, and man.. it did her damage. it did everyone damage.

pinpointing what's making you feel sad is really important, then you can work on it...
If you know how to suffer, you do not suffer. Suffer consciously. Meaning suffer willingly,
so that you feel pain without thinking: "what can I do to get rid of it?". You might as well try it, it will relieve a great many burdens.
Don't be depressed, when I am depressed i like to get huge hershey's chocolate bar with almonds, and curl up on the couch and watch a really funny movie, or i go SHOPPING
I too felt the same way..Your not alone.. I hated people telling me just cheer up.. I felt like really hurting them every time I heard it..What I did was go to my local health food store and got some really good medicine.. It really did help... One was called SAMMIE and the other was At Ease...I felt so much better.. You just tell them how you feel and they will help you.. Really go to a health food store and get some stuff to help you.. The website for At Ease is www.reddremedies.com.. I'm sorry but I don't have the box for the Sammie but your health food store should have it.. If not let me now and I will go to the health food store and find out for you... Just leave additional comments and I will keep a look out for you..
Take care and I hope you feel better soon...
I would suggest finding someone to talk to. The fact that you have and are suicidal makes me believe that you need a doctor more than a friend, but both couldn't hurt. I'm also bipolar, its never easy. And no...hearing just cheer up doesn't do anything but piss me off =) Heres another thought. You've expressed desired change, you can not change these things if aren't alive to accomplish them.
I'm sorry to hear about your situation. Depression is a very serious illness and it's not something you can just "snap" out of or use "mind over matter". I know because my mother battles with it as well. I really hope you have people around you that love you and will watch over you. That is one thing that I know helps. Anyways you can email me if you need a friend
I am bipolar going through a downward swing with suicidal thoughts. I feel I am fortunate now to have a psych doc to prescribe me the meds to alleviate the strong powerful dark dark thoughts. I suggest you find someone to talk to, maybe through a local crisis center, who can direct you to a doctor to give you the right meds. Bipolar is a chemical imbalance in the brain that cannot be alleviated by chocolate or a changing the way on thinks. Once you get your depression under control, talk therapy can help you understand how to deal with bipolar disorder.
You are not alone.
Move to California, and come and party with me! :)
