I need help relaxing?

Question:
For so long now, I've noticed that I think too much. Actually, I over-think. I'm to the point where a whole bunch of worrysome ideas come into mind almost all the time. I'm constantly worrying about things. I've lately been trying those techniques that help you to stop worrying, but I just can't relax my mind. I think it's because of the whole deal with that girl who I suspect my boyfriend wishes he was with. I've been lately trying to control myself of thinking things like "She has a license, and so does he, maybe they'll sneak behind my back and go to the movies together while I'm gone." I just can't stop. I just want to be able to relax without always thinking about him and him liking the girl that's just like me. This has been very bad for my physical health, also. I can't sleep as well while thinking about those things, I create nervous ticks, I've forgotten what I like, I've lost interest in things. I've been depressed. Thanks for any help that you can give to me. It means a lot.

I grew up in a home with people that over analyzed everything. They were WONDERFUL people, but everything had to be disected and life became a chore. I decided to go a different route and actually live my life and enjoy the moments! Take things for what they are, both good and bad and roll with it. Overanalyzing just makes you unfulfilled and eventually bitter. Your circumstances don’t make you…but they CAN make you stronger…and more resiliant.
Everyone is going to tell you to shut up and grow up, but I understand exactly how you feel. I'm 20 years old, and around 14 is when I started to really worry about things to the point where it was extremely unhealthy. I'd keep myself up at night, would have bad dreams, felt constantly paranoid, etc. Writing in a journal only made it worse because it just allowed my worries to have an outlet, for one worry to lead to another. It got to the point where even going out with my friends didn't help at all- I couldn't get anything off of my mind. Now that I'm older, I've learned that what I experienced and what you're experiencing now is very common.

I don't have an answer for you. I don't know how to cure you. I don't know why I worry or over-think. The only thing that worked for me was the passing of time and learning with age. Shutting off negative thoughts was something that I had to practice and practice. I'm good now, but I still get to myself sometimes.

By the way, it all started with a guy, though. That much I know for sure. :-P
Perhaps you should try reading some books on co-dependent and how you can relax. 99 % of everything you worry about most likly won't happen.
You sound like your over jealous and worrying about losing your boyfriend to another, well stop if he is that sought of boyfriend, you would be better off without him. I know you don't want to hear this but you make things happen when you keep putting it out there. You need to do meditation and see a therapist as jealousy is like poison it will wipe you and everything beautiful out and drive everyone away. please go get a grip of your self if you cant stop it on your own, you may need medication. Some times you can over do it and kill the love so please learn this now before your life is thrown away. No man could live forever with this happening all the time I can only imagine the things you must say to him daily.
The best thing to do is not worry but if you being worry about him cheating try to find out because worrying isn't good for you, but if you get to stress out you may have too...

break up with him. Stress can take over your life, it can be very dangerest for you so this maybe your only option. Please feel better.
