MD ordered strict bed rest, low stress, no exertion etc. How do I become compliant with this?

Question:
Hi everyone:

I need your advice please. I have multi physical and multi mental health issues all which are controlled by MD & meds. I am very compliant with my treatments but I can't comply with this one for the last few days.

The dilema is that I have cardiac issues that have flared up highly this round. MD ordered since he knows I hate being in the hosp if I can comply with this we will see if it can be controlled at home, I'm finding it very hard to stay on strict bedrest. I also as my biggest isues counteracting with the bedrest, low stress, no activity order is severe Bipolar 1, ADHD, Anxiety and ll the rest.

If I lay in bed, I will just go completely crazy because of the constant racing thoughts, then need to be in motion at all times and the 1/2 of me that is screaming at the other half to stop and get my butt back to bed.

My goodness, there's an inner battle going on, 1 to comply, the others need for motion and the need for keeping my mind busy.

Luv u girl >:D< ssz
lay you butt in bed with something to do, like a laptop computer, a puzzle book, a deck of card, a good book, etc... that way you can keep you mind occupied and your body still
Sounds to me like you've allready suffered a melt down. Your doc should've given you a horse tranquilizer right off the bat.
Try reading. OR do some journaling. Check out art journals online and maybe work on something like that. Try to watch tv. Try praying. Try talking on the phone. All sorts of things you can do sitting up you can do in bed. See if the doc can give you something to help you relax without causing harm to your heart.
Hey I'm not trying to be a D!CK here but seriously try smoking a lil weed. It'll calm you down and increase your appetite. Just do it in moderation, and if you feel you might get hooked DONT start it. Its not the best thing to do but I've seen cancer patients going through chemo with no effect with 1500$ medication but weed worked.
wish Md would give me this order i would be a gold medal winner if they made it a sport in the olympics
Well it is important for all of you to understand what is best for the whole being. The "host" shall we say. The bedrest issue is temporary for now and keeps you at home where you want to be. Although you have control as to what you do with the strict admonishments from your MD you also need to realize that if you choose to not comply you are putting your whole self at risk for not only much, much greater complications in the long run that might even carry on for the rest of your days but you are also subjecting yourself to being admitted to the hospital against your will under the guise that it would be in your best interest. What is most important to you as a whole. Remember if you can take these small steps now or precautions now and give your body the rest it needs and deserves you will have all the time you want later on to do what ever it is you like. Good luck and take care of YOU... All of you.. together.S~
Wow, what a dilemma. I think that when you get down to the root of the problem, you don't have the self-discipline to do what you know is right. It's like a cigarette smoker who lights up even though he can't breath and has a sore throat. Your mind is controlling your body, but your body doesn't like doing what your mind wants it to do. Your mind and body need to agree on what's best for both of them, and you need to enforce that agreement. If you do it now, it should be just a temporary inconvenience. If you wait, you may be looking at a significant lifestyle change that you will find very uncomfortable. Now get on your butt!
I think you know the answer.
You need to stop and figure out what your alternatives are to being non-compliant with what your doctor wants you to do are. Your the Ring Master with this situation. You are the one who says these racing thoughts go 'round in circles or 8 tract, up and down. Start writing things down this could lead to a best selling novel - a whole new career. Strict bed rest is next to impossible. Sitting around reading, sewing painting anything such constitutes rest.Strict bed rest I could see when I was pregnant and bleeding but you don't say anything like that. Evidently you like to be on the computer that is rather easy going. You write well ... So Missy Ringmaster crack that whip and tell everybody that they are going to do as they should both halves and the racers. I
know you can do it ...
Try a number of things

Reading in bed,
Doing jigsaw puzzles,
Try inviting over a friend to talk with you,
Watch tv or movies, though provocative stuff like horrors or something that'll make you jump.

Anything that'll keep your mind occupied will stop your thoughts form get away from you. Good luck.
You seem willing to let another human control you. Use your brain to decide what is best. Your own body will warn you . If you are willing to be a slave tell us why.
Boy I hope this doesn't come out wrong but reading what you wrote makes my life look like a breeze...

Lots of good suggestions, books, puzzles and such. If your mind is racing what if you wrote it down? Maybe you could even write a book? Who knows...

I really hope it all works out. I'd be happy to correspond if you wanted to e-mail me.
Hi there!

Omgosh! Sounds like a battle. All I can suggest is that whenever I have so many thoughts going through my head I stay busy. While staying busy can lead to stress, because your body is active. You can stay busy doing things that are calming; i.e. exercise, emailing friends & family, YouQA.com s, blogging, journaling, sewing, cooking, or simply just take a nap. Take the kids to the park, or you can go to the park, a cafe and read a good book. Just do simple things, keep your mind on what the doc ordered you to do. Knowing that's the most important right now, taking better care of YOU!

Get better soon!
