Question:

I work for a healthcare professional who calls in sick all the time,?
this person suffers from anxiety and depression...now our patients and staff are suffering. I am physically sick due to coming up with excuses for our patients and from not having a paycheck to cover the bills. I am also prone to depression and low self esteem, making it hard for me to find another job right away. I care for this employer a great deal and have offered help in many different ways. This Dr. fakes illness and then forgets which illness they had. The practice is going down-hill quickly and this person wants to do lots of marketing to bring new people in. I cannot possibly be a part of this insanity...yet the other co-workers can shrug it off. Am I crazy? Can I collect unemployment due to inability to function like this? Please help !

Answers:
Due to no fault of your own, that is one of the stipulations you can collect unemployment. I just recently quit my job as a CNA
at a small hospital. I had a hard time working with nurses that are lazy and would sit around the nurses station reading magazines and gossiping and making it hard for me to do my job, I applied for unemployment and got it, of course not without a fight. If they happen to deny your claim...appeal it, and they will have a hearing that you will be able to tell your side of the story. I say give it a try the worst that could happen is they would deny it but at least you made a statement and possibly bring this behavior to an end. Best of luck.
That really just depends on your state. You can call your local employment office and ask them before quitting.
You should find another place of employment because that doctor needs to quit practicing medicine.
Yes, you should report this to Employment insurance, and whatever doctor's organization that deals with doctors like this.
