Is it possible to feel suicidal, but have no real reason to kill yourself?
Question:

To be frank, this is the most dangerous form of depression, called ' endogenous ' it means from within and is due to brain chemistry problems, including low serotonin levels. It is important that you go see your GP and tell him what you have shared with us. Please try and get some help soon.
i suggest u talk to your Gp and let he/she no coz it isnt nice and they will be able to help you
Absolutely. In fact, suicidal thoughts are a symptom of many different kinds of depressions and mental illnesses. I highly recommend that you see your doctor about this immediately! Hang in there!
It's a natural enough questioning of your existence.
Fantasise all you like - just don't do it.
Well, don't do it. Kill yourself then what happens? Wouldn't you rather be happy ? Keep yourself off of those thoughts.
Kill whatevers driving you to think about them thoughts, I already know what but I will let you decide what it is.
Thanks for letting me answer this question.
DONT KILL URSELF CALL 1800-SUICIDE
I know how your feeling. I'm exactly the same :(
Take care
Absolutely.
Sometimes people just go through bouts of depression, though sometimes people don't consciously know the problem causing them the feelings, but unconsciously the problem is bothering them immensely.
I think you should contact your hospitals crisis team, it sounds like a huge deal and like they're going to be rushing in and locking you in a white suit but really they're usually calm and try to understand and help. And believe me, they do NOT lock you up unless you NEED to be locked up.
Best of luck, please stay safe!!
what a waste of your life, think of all those people that love you, you will devestate their lives.
I remember when I was a small child arriving home from school one day at my friends house, we walked in the door and found her mother hanging.
Im a photographer and am often called to crime scenes, suicides make me so sad, such a waste of a life.
Do try to have a chat with someone, depression is not something to be taken lightly, or ask your gp to refer you for a blood test as you said you dont really have anything to be depressed about.
If your vitamin B12 is on a very low level, this can cause your sadness.
good luck
take care of yourself
remember
tomorrow could be a beautiful day.
wow! you have every reason to live, but still want to die.
sounds like a grab for attention; obviously, you are unhappy. perhaps you should seek therapy. and perhaps you just need medicine. sometimes suicide is more than depression and its actually how your mind is wired. perhaps a clinical drug can help.
yes it is but dont!!!!
i know how you feel...i have similar thoughts too, but I'd never go through with it, i have children and they keep me going! i think perhaps the both of us should seek some kind of help.whats your thoughts?
Love, of course, these such thoughts come wrapped with a nice bow on top with depression. I suffered through it, and I had attempted suicide. Fortunately, I was not successful. I suggest talking to a therapist. It helps. And if you don't already, get some prescription pills for depression. Many of my best friends were successful when they commited suicide, I had to witness one of them. And I must tell you, it's one of the worst possible things you can do. Suicide is something stupid, and thoughtless. I do understand what you are going through though, and I wish you the best of luck.

Its a normal symptom of depression, I have these thoughts too, the one thing that prevents me from doing anything about them is seeing my friends failed suicide attempts. her wrists are totally cut up and look terrible.
yep, happened 2 me, went away by itself, but i wouldn't take the chance if i were u, go talk 2 r gp they'll b able 2 help,
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy would probably help you. Why end your life? You have something to contribute to the world, and every right to contribute it. Good luck.
See your doctor, and get some medication (if you're already on something, it may need to be increased) AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.
PLEASE do NOT harm yourself. The way you feel is due to the illness. You WILL feel better, with the right treatment. I promise you that.
The Samaritans are there, at the end of a 'phone, if you need to talk
Yes, I do when I'm depressed. I usually have to be placed in hospital (for my own safety) because of it.
Are you lonely? Have you been to the dr about this. I too get the same feelings.
Talk to a family member or friend. Most of the when people kill them selves it's over nothing! It happened to me and my life was "perfect" at the time.
people that suffer with depression have suicidal thoughts, you should go see a doctor and he will give you some anti depression pills it will help you to stop having those thoughts
It is not the answer.
Yes you can feel like that i did for many years, i am still here.
I had alot of help advice and family to support me.
You need to speak to a therapist to resolve why you feel the way you do, as there will be an underlying problem that you dont know about.
It is not worth it my friend, take life by the horns and live it to the full. I am sooo glad i did not go through with it i would have missed out on so much.
Talk to your doc.
DON"T KILL YOURSELF.suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem. No method is a good method. If your having thoughts of suicide seek professional help...if you don't want to do that seek help from a hotline or from someone who understands what it's like to feel that way.I know how you feel. I have been there and attempted. I hurt my family and friends deeply. I almost lost my life. I wanted that at the time, but now I am greatful to be alive...I am a mom, I am in school and I am working towards building a great life for me and my son! I still have horrible days, but I pick up the phone and call someone to get me through it. I'm here if you need a listening ear.
Call a hot line on suicide whenever you are thinking about doing it. Never be alone.
More often than not it is not the external stuff that really gets to us and depresses us.it is all the stuff that our inner being is feeding us...we try to turn off the inner being by lashing out at the external stuff and then we start getting really messed up,so to answer your question--yes I think it is possible feel depressed and yes even suicidal without having a real, understandable, reason to kill yourself but you said it yourself it is a fantasy and you know what fantasies are don't you? They are figments of our imagination and therefore are not really real. Please put this fantasy to bed and wake up and see what this "fantasy" of yours would ultimately cost your family and friends.
Depression can cause many negative feeling and emotions...Since you are looking for help is a good sign, you know you truly do not want to do this, find a friend or family member that can assist you in finding help. A psychiatrist can give you meds that will help you to get back to a positive mental status...remember that to hurt yourself is not going to do anything positive regarding your situation. Stop thinking about the easy way out and do the right thing! Be strong and just do the right thing to help yourself!
Yes & go to see your doctor.
Yes, it is possible to feel suicidal and have no reason to kill yourself. I suggest voluntarily checking in to a psychiatric center for 72 hours. There the psychiatrist can diagnose your problem and find the right medication for you. Good luck.
Yes, I've been in your situation. I have a great life (or so people say) because I'm varsity in all my favorite sports, I have two friends, I write music, I play instruments, and yet I still feel suicidal sometimes. I don't know why I have depression but since our brains (depressed brains) are lacking seretonin (the happy chemical) it makes us want to kill ourselves. I'm here if you need to talk.
