With OCD, can rituals cycle?

Question:
Say there's a ritual consisting of opening and closing a shower curtain 12 times. Then there's a ritual of turning off all of the lights in a certain order. Well what if a new ritual manifests (such as the excessive application of chapstick in maximum intervals of 10 minutes), can the previous ritual with the shower curtain be let alone? Would that be considered OCD still?

Answers:
well, i have very bad ocd, and for a while, i had to use hand sanitizer every 5 minutes. yes, these things can be cyclical, and they can come and go. ocd is more importantly about he dependace on the action, not about what the action itself is. so wether it's applying chapstick, closing curtains, turning off lights, or closing doors at a certain angle, the real issue is the dependence itself, not the action. as long as you have those actions, you're ocd, and as long as you have those actions, you wont need to replace them. i'd be more concerned if they suddenly stopped.

hope that helped!
yes
Hi, from personal experience you can have more than one ritual and everytime you do the ritual then it is only allowing more to manifest. It is like feeding it and it wanting more.
