Bipolar disorder?

Answers:
I know some people with bipolar. Really nice people but sometimes when they're off their medication they just jump down everyone's throat for something like not returning an email.
If your mom is not on the medication, then she probably should be, but if you just want to try not to rile her then just be loving and considerate and try to understand her, and when she's back to normal after one of those break downs you should probably have a long talk to her and try to explain how her behavior, although it's not her fault, is taking a heavy toll on her loved ones.
try writing too her.. Is she BiPolar.. if she is watch her moods.. When someone is Bipolar they can't help what they think.. YOu will learn to adjust and she will have to too.. Good Luck
This isn't your fault and you won't make her break down. It is a symptom of her illness. All you can do is try to be supportive. Find out if she is still on her medication and if not try to get her back on it.
If you are really worried about her phone the doctors. Ask to speak to her doctor yourself and tell him your concerns. he can then come round to do a home visit.
Good Luck

Rage is not the only symptom of the disease... I know it can be the most hurtful part of the disease. But as a bipolar sufferer I know I suffer from, forgetfulness, depression, hopelessness, headaches, hypothyroidism, and weight gain. There are many other symptoms that are proven with research that go along with being bipolar. Not to mention their are different types of bipolar affect disorders, mine being type one. I think what the worst part of the disease is the rage, and it stems from the fact that we could either be a little agitated that day or sometimes we have a hard understanding people. When someone says they missed an email, we think it`s because they don`t like us. We`ve gone through enough rejection because of our disease, we think everyone reacts with dislike, so we rage and get defensive sometimes. Or sometimes, we can sometimes can just be tired from our medication!! So be patient and understanding, she can`t help it, she didn`t ask for this disease!!
