Abilify side affects?

Question:
i am on Abilify for schiszophrenia and i am on Luvox for OCD, and i am having bad shakes, feel disoriented, and this other agravating feeling inside that i really can't discribe. i cannot drive a car right noow for it. i have only been on abilify for about 5 days and i was wanting to know wether this is a temporary side affect of the drug or that i need to talk to my doctor about changing medications again?

Answers:
I started on 5mg of Abilify and had terrible side effects. I was dizzy, lightheaded, shaking and had extreme fatigue where I could hardly stand. If I sat down, I needed to stand up right away because my legs felt so messed up and restless. I was raised to 10mg and still had the same side effects and felt like I was going to pass out sometimes while walking. This went on for about a month.

My doctor told me that Abilify is a medication which sometimes makes people feel WORSE when on a low dose. When I was raised to 15mg, the bad side effects went away. I'm now on 20mg and I'm fine. For whatever reason, the low doses were horrible for me but the higher doses were fine. Maybe you are having the same problem I had.
Since you have the internet, go to www.drugs.com and research your drug. It will list common side effects, when you need to call the doc, etc. Hope this helps. The carton information that you received with the Abilify if the best source of information.
Your dosage Must be reduced and increased SLOWLY. If the dose is already low - You need to STOP it NOW and contact your prescriber - IMEDIATLY! It will not go away with this dosage!
