Temporary depression?

Question:
Is there such thing as temporary depression? I only think I feel depressed and lonely is because of my current situation. I am at a job that I absolutely hate but stay there for the money until I can find something better. I have no friends due to moving back home after graduation and no boyfriend. Although when I separate myself from this situation and think about more pleasant things I feel much better. Is it the temporary blues or real depression?

Answers:
sounds like the temporary blues, once your social life gets back on track, you will fell better.
It sounds temporary but try to find a job that you like. Find some friends to talk to.
are you feeling situational depression, only depressed in certain settings?
sounds like you might be going thru a rough time and possibly may need to see your doctor to do a short term trial of antidepressants... sometimes that will help.
many people can do a 3-6 month round of anti depressants and feel better, some take longer, ... but you should really see your doctor for a diagnosis and medications as he sees appropriate. and then possibly thinking about what you can do to change the situations in your life that make you so unhappy will help too.
The social disorder in one town is the same as the social disorder in the next. You have to see what is making you a loner . The winners will shun you for the same reasons. But you are you... just find someone like yourself to be friends with and stay far away from the mean winner-players.
there is such a thing as a depression that leaves people feeling like this. It might just be the blues, because of your ability to bounce back so quickly. People all go through times of sadness, but it typically does not last.
If the depression lasts more then two weeks then it is time to seek professional help.
It's just a case of the blues and you feel confused about things, you are not alone, first of all practically everyone hates their job and does it for the money, that's why its called work. I know you and you do have friends! You are the one who convinced me to sign up for YouQA.com !! But we have kept in touch since you moved back home and you know you are always welcome to visit. As for the no boyfriend thing, trust me you don't need a boyfriend to feel complete or happy, Yes overall most of us want to meet someone but, sometimes you should just be yourself and when your not looking and when you least expect it something good will happen, just because it all doesn't happen overnight and all at once doesn't mean that things will be depressing. I think its just the temporary blues. Things will get better I promise.
