Why do I feel like people are always watching me?

Question:
I always feel like I'm being watched apart from when I'm in my house. Whenever I go outside I feel like somebodys watching my every move, and it bothers me because I find it hard to relax and be myself. It's for this reason I don't like going out much. I can't understand why I get this feeling I think I must have some sort of mental problem :( even at crowded gatherings like a party I feel like everybodys watching my everymove like a hawk and sometimes it gets soo bad I think they're talking about me. And they're noticing every move I make and analyzing it. ARGH I don't know why I think like this it's so anoying I just wish I could get rid of this feeling.

Answers:
Try living in London where on an average day someone is caught on camera about 200-300 times per day. I don't live there and I never will simply because of that.

You have what's called the "Big Brother Syndrome" or at least that's what I like to call it. You tend to keep to yourself more and not "act out" or do something off the wall because you think someone is watching you or judging you. The reason for it could just be a lack of self esteem. The lack of self esteem could stem from you feeling uncomfortable with the way you look or various other things. Try to understand what it is and then work on that part that you feel down about. As for thinking that people are talking about you that happens to everyone from time to time.

If you really think someone is talking about you walk up to one of the people and nicely say "Hi do I know you from somewhere?"
if the person says no say "Sorry I thought I used to go to school with you" or "Sorry I thought I remember seeing you at my old job working for (insert fancy name of company here to make yourself seem more important) "

here is a little thing that has helped me.

Before you start your day (when you wake up) try to imagine how it's going to play out from start to finish. Try to visualize the "perfect" day. Attempt to not think about anything going wrong. Think about striking up friendly conversations and meeting new friends or business clients. Imagine yourself going places and doing things you want to do without worrying about being watched or judged by anyone. If you do this everyday and try to make your visualization a reality eventually your current thought pattern will be a thing of the past and you'll look back on it and laugh. Doing this everyday will get you to any place you want to be in life but you MUST try it everyday and not get discouraged if something does "go wrong". Good luck.

Practice everyday.

hope this helps

And one more thing. If you get to the point where it's hard to even function on a day to day basis then go see a professional who has gone to school and studied mental disorders. Just incase it is something serious. I'll bet the majority of people feel that sort of discomfort from time to time though.
I don't know...ask Rockwell.
you are crazy, call you local psychiatrist
because they are
I THINK THEY ARE!! YOUR NOT CRAZY
I get the same feeling allot, at least you don't feel the rocks and trees.

Mostly I muster up what courage I have and "walk" threw my day as best I can

Peace
If you think people are watching you, then perhaps you are "watching them too"
