I'm really tired and want to sleep, but I'm scared.?

Question:
I feel really weird and I'm extremely tired, but I don't know why. And everytime I try to go to sleep, I feel like I'm slipping away, not falling asleep. As a result I'm scared to fall asleep because I'm afraid I won't wake up. So I guess my question is what can I do to make this feeling go away so I can get some sleep?

Answers:
It sounds like an anxiety attack to me, and I used to have them too. I finally sent for the tapes from the Midwestern Center for Anxiety and Depression while I was .take a guess......yup, awake and not sleeping one night. It changed my life, cuz it was so debilitating. You are not slipping away I promise you, but the only person who can help you is you, and maybe this will empower you too it sure as heck helped me. http://www.stresscenter.com/ If you'll read this you'll start to see that you are so Not alone and these people's stories will sound real familiar
It is better if u try to read the book and if that didn't work much they try to have hot milk with cake and they will help u to have good sleep.
I think this is a form of a panic attack and you should visit your doctor.
Just relax and watch some tv or listen to some soft music and relax and you should feel better. Hope you can get some sleep and don't worry you will wake up the next morning.
Girl you need to pray! Prayer is good all the time! Talk and say how you feel until you fall asleep!
I think it is your breathing as it stops when on your back find a better position even on you knees as I do . Maybe you need to ask a friend to be your sleep coach and he stays till you are asleep . It is little to ask of a true friend. IF YOU ONLY HAVE ONE ON LINE USE THAT .
You should be asking your doctor what to do. Sound like it could be anxiety or something.
I sometimes, very rarely, have this feeling too when I am trying to sleep. I think it is your bodies way of reacting to stress, are you stressed out about anything or worrying about many things? What I do when this happens is I have a nice warm cup if either chamomile or green tea and read a book until my head is ready to hit the pillow and my eyelids wont stay open anymore. Sometimes I call or text my boyfriend or a friend and that makes me feel safe and secure. Don't worry, if you are in good health and everything is well with you then you will wake up and you can go to sleep without worries that you won't wake up.
See your Dr and get some meds for insomnia and anxiety.
Sounds like you may have some phobia about something.
the cause of insomnia is many thing, but the most important thing is deppression, i suggest you read this site http://www.sleep-sound.com/?id=benthaleb...

try chamomile tea and take a bubble bath before sleep. try going to sleepwakesfl.com. and holisticonline.com to help you out.
Have you ever heard of any famous person who just died in their sleep when they were young? It does not happen. You are not going to die. But to help sleep try warm milk or over the counter medication. OR try to be physically tired at the same time.
