i'm feeling really down at the minute, so how can i distract myself from it?
i've just been gambling on the computer and listening to heavy metal all day and it's not helping.

Hello Ben,
Firstly think of others less fortunate than yourself, a little boy on gmtv had to have both legs amputated, a friend of mine lost their 18 mth old grandson in a car accident, the list is endless...then I want you to list all the positive things in your life, give your house a good clean...throw out everything that is not needed, play calming music, log off from the pc. Try to surround yourself with positive thougths, burn lavender oil..(buy it from holland & barrat its v good) the list is endless...email me all the things on your mind and whats really bugging you...writing/typing it will help.. best of luck

Work extra hard to forget your problems temporarily.
My distraction is the jokes and riddles section, plus polls and surveys. Being a little silly stops my depression from taking over.
Go out. Try exersize. Definately GO OUT!
Do something you would like to do that is different from what you are already doing.

Go out for a walk. Go to a science museum. Read a book about the mind.

Learn something new. Always works for me.

heavy metal wont help! (unless you like that sort of thing). Usually, I read or listen to the radio when im down. Sometimes making a chill out playlist on itunes helps! It may sound sad, but listening to soothing music can make you feel a whole lot better.

I'd get away from the computer though if I were you, maybe go for a walk around the park or something? Or go out with your friends. The list is endless. Just make sure you're not thinking or concentrating too hard.
drink.....lots
I think you should invite some of your friends round and just have a fun time. Forget about all the horrible goings on in your life and enjoy some time with your friends or alternatively start up a hobby.
Take a sharp pencile and stab yourself in the eye. It always works. Pease give my a gold star.
Take a walk, call a friend, or watch a movie... these things always seem to distract me when I'm down.
take drugs, e's are good, e's are good or go and shoplift...
vodka:)
go dancing
eat chocolate
write a journal
sleep
in this order..it works- trust me!
those past times are not generally associated with having a healthy lifestyle. Hopefully that is not your usual habit If so I suggest a gamblers anonymous meeting right away. There are many other choices you ould make when bored than computer gambling. find a way to stay busy in a more healthful manner. Outdoors, volunteer work-join a group that does something in which you have an interest-, seeing positive and productive friends and family etc.
Exercise and play in dirt. Both will lift your spirits. There is something in dirt that surprisingly will make you feel better. Do some gardening.
Gambling is a good start. I would also start using meth. Oh, and dont froget prostitutes. Actually, I would start with prostitutes, then meth. See how that works.
dude,u need to go out in the fresh AIR.too much heavy metal makes u mental.why can't u see a nice film .man,do something, best of luck.
Don't listen to the idiots, on the net, try and give some of your time to helping others, you must have some special skill, or talent, volunteer some of your spare time, i did and now I'm soon to open a homework club for kids, i know you will say why should i, and the answer is you need to help yourself before others can help you, so go on give it ago, and see what happens, good luck.
Get away from the computer! Go for a walk. Have you got anything resembling the countryside near you? If so, walk there. I find that just getting outside and walking for a good two or three hours gives me time to think things over, and also I always end up seeing something new and interesting.
Well go for a walk. Maybe eat a snack on for the walk. And just run outside and listen to your music at the same time. Go to your friends house and be silly! Hope I helped out. lol
Maybe you have other interests or activities that you like to do? Obviously gambling on the computer is not good for you long term mentally or your finances! What did you used to like doing before you felt down? Maybe try arranging days out with your friends, go to the gym, swimming...anything that strikes your interest or what you havent done before, see it as a challenge! The more things you do, your mood will hopefully lift. Good luck!
