Borderline Depression... what is it?

Question:
Can anyone explain to me what borderline depression is?

Answers:
borderline depression is one thing, and borderline personality disorder is another. its pretty important to make a distinction between the two.
i have what has been called "borderline depression", but it has also been called "mild clinical depression" and "depression", and a few other things. borderline depression to me would mean that you need an ssri medication. ssri's (selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors) work well for most people, but not all of them are the same. meds like prozac, effexor, zoloft, etc. are all ssri meds, but they dont work for everyone. some work for some people, others work for other people. like, prozac and seroxat did nothing for me, but zoloft worked. other people cant take zoloft but prozac works great. you need a good doc. if you dont get one, email me and i'll give you any info i can. take care.
Someone who wants time off work, say for a holiday, when they return they are nolonger depressed
It means someone who is somewhat depressed or down and out who may or may not need to have medication or who can treat their depression with other things. Also it could be over a particular situation rather than just random! cheer up
Sounds like a medical excuse to not try to understand a problem.

Depression has many forms.
