Depression is about how you think.
Some people with very serious diseases are filled with hope. They smile and are happy.
It is so hard to explain why some people with lessor diseases or no disease seem to find it hard to think of something happier.
Some people become their disease. You may have met someone like that. They talk about nothing but the time they had to go to the doctor's office, and how much pain they have.
When you are working on hobbies is the pain less? When you are out with friends is the pain less? When you are playing do you feel happier?
Try working on a hobby, or going out with friends just to see if the pain and depression are less.
Do you just sit in front of the TV and not get any exercise?
Turn off the TV and go for a walk with your friends.
There are many things you can do. You have a lot of gifts. Your are alive. You can smile. You can joke.
Do anything but what you are doing.

You need to go to your school councilor and talk to them first, It will be a good starting point. Because mental depression can lead to physical pain, The councilor will talk to you and send you to other professionals if needed.
Write about it. Keep a journal and write down your feelings. Write a letter to your father. you can write poems, letters, songs, or just a daily journal. it will really help believe it or not. Maintaining a long distance relationship is extremely difficult but its important to keep in touch. Send cards, tell him how you feel. I take it he is too far away to visit. I am sure he is hurting too.
I would convince your parents to let you have dinner with your dad. Then, if you talk to him about how you're feeling, your depression will probably recede. Also, you seem to be really stressed out. When I get stressed, I play a sport outside. btw, i'm your age, too, and my parents are divorced, also.
If you are feeling depressed, you should talk with your doctor.. there are medications that they can put you on that might help.. also, is there a trusted adult that you can talk to like a teacher, aunt, uncle, pastor or priest, etc. Adults don't always have all the answers, but sometimes they can point you in the right direction of finding help.. You do not have to live this way... whatever you are going through WILL get better... it may not seem like it now, but it will, just give it time... Good Luck and may God bless you!
Plain & simple - For the back pain, you really need to impress upon your Dr that you ARE in pain.if an xray revealed nothing out of sorts - it probably is something muscular- OUCH.Physical pain in your back is SO not fun.Have you fallen or done some extreme physical activity which may have caused it? I would see if you cant get a referral to a chiropractor or a physical therapist.
As for the depression, that also needs to be addressed.Ask to speak to a counselor :)
You can get better.Promise
God bless you.
I can help you. I am 15 and have been struggling with suicide, depression, panic disorder, GAD, and SAD since I was around 11. I had severe back pain that was so bad that I couldn't walk for hours, but I found out later it was growing pains, you might be having those. I am extremley active too. You need to make sure you eat a good diet, because sugar and fat are delicious, but they make you feel good for that hour, but when that kick leaves, it knocks you down. Don't set yourself up to fall!! Make sure you are enjoying the sports you play. I played basketball for 5 years, and finally quit because I was making myself miserable. I can also relate to not having a dad around because mine travels constantly. Just remember that he loves you and that YOU MATTER! If you are christian, remember GOD LOVES YOU. he wants you to be happy. You can be anyone or anything. These have helped me. and if you want more help, email me at sauciefox11@yahoo.com
