Slept 0 hours last nite (insomnia), how can I get my sleep schedule back on track?
Question:
I have to work @ 6 AM tomorrow morning.
So should I fight the whole day to stay awake or take a nap or what?
Answers:
Try to go to sleep at or as near to your regular time as possible. You may feel loopy so be careful if you have to drive. If you still have trouble sleeping find a distraction, reading helps me especially while lying down. Try drinking chamomile tea or taking valerian root( from the health food store).
Distraction is the best thing. The body wants to sleep, the mind gets stuck in a rut and wont let it. Usually anxiety is what keeps me awake. I've found that if I write a story in my head when I'm trying to sleep, it'll keep out the annoying obsessive thoughts and i'll fall asleep before I know it.
Too many times anxiety keeps people awake and then they are anxious about missing sleep. That just fuels the anxiety.
try distraction and good luck.
I had the same problem as you.
You need to be active in the daytime. Work out/run around, do something in order to get yourself tired. If that doesnt work after a few days then see a doctor.
Relax b4 you go to bed.Play soft music, warm bath,Turn lights off earlier.
See insomnia, at http://www.ezy-build.net.nz/~shaneris... on page 3: don't nap!
I've had life-long insomnia so when you figure something out tell me.
hold out until mid way through your day have a powernap (15mins) and administer a medicinal expresso or 3 with some water..
its all in the timing...
Insomnia (sleeplessness) is due to stress,
dietary and medical problems. By making
small lifestyle changes like having a fixed
daily routine, relaxing and eating properly,
insomnia can be cured. I found the information
