I get depressed quite often without any reason?

I am 23 years single old.One thing I notice now a days is depression.WIthout any reason I get so depressed .If I alone I start listening to sentimental songs so that i should get depressed.The only time I am happy is when i hit the gym.I just feel I am useless ,everyone hates me,loser, when I am depressed.Please some help me out.

For one thing, the reason hitting the gym helps you is because endorphins are released into your system, which helps depression immensely.

Otherwise, two words go hand in hand...boredom and depression. Often when one feels they have no life (boredom) they get depressed. Try to get into a hobby and do something you love to counteract any boredom you may feel.

If you get sentimental over certain things, go to counseling to get to the root of your problems. You may have childhood traumatization or something that hurts your heart, though you can't pinpoint it. Good luck!

I read this paper published in the medical journal a while ago that wheat can cause depression so if you are taking in a lot of wheat in your diet try cutting it down. Also the best thing to do about depression is honestly try to get some help, you will find that just talking things out will help alot.

gym is good, so too is laughter, sunshine is also very good. stay away from anti-depressant drugs whatever you do. answer> get out there in the sunshine and do something like gardening, rent a comedy dvd and get a few freinds round/relatives for a laughter evening, get yourself down the gym, good luck, you''ll be fine

People of all ages and races suffer from depression. Medications are available that are generally safe and effective, even for the most severe depression. With proper treatment, most people with serious depression improve, often within weeks, and can return to normal daily activities.


Once treatment for depression begins, you still have to manage on a day-to-day basis. Here are some guidelines:

See your doctor regularly. Your doctor can monitor your progress, provide support and encouragement, and adjust your medication if necessary.

Take your medications.
Finding the best medication for you may take several tries. It may take several weeks for you to start seeing results. Once you feel better, continue to take your medication as prescribed.

Don't become isolated. Try to participate in normal activities.

Take care of yourself. Eat a healthy diet and get the right amount of sleep and exercise. Exercise can help treat some forms of depression, ease stress and help you relax.

Avoid alcohol and recreational drugs. Abuse of alcohol and drugs will slow or prevent your recovery.

Self-help organizations have become potent allies for people who are coping with mental illness or who care about someone with such an illness. For depression or other mental illnesses, self-help groups include:

Don't listen to sad songs when you are depressed or happy songs. It's better to not hear music period. If you go to church avoid the singing part or you will be very miserable. I rarely listen to music especially if I am sad because besides distracting me it makes me miserable. It's like taking off someone's jacket in freezing cold. Listen to happy songs when you are happy or feeling neutral and keep sad songs as a novelty.

We all want life to exactly our way, but it never works out perfectly. We want something but don't get it and it feels as if our lives are ruined. We want people to love us exactly the way we want them too love us, but it hardly ever works out that way. We want perfect peace and joy, but someone is always oppressing us or insulting us or doing so to our friends. We want freedom from pain and old age, but suffering and death comes. So what to do? How can we bear the sadness and misery that fills our lives, how can we escape torment and death?

My advice is to turn to God and embrace his truth no matter how painful. He can do much more than cheer a person up, he change their life for the better, and one day will make it perfect forever, perfectly satisfying you. Try his way if you already haven't already.
