Borderline Personality Disorder or Depression? Please help.?

To tell you the truth, most everything that you mentioned sounds consistent with Dysthymia rather than BPD but there isn't enough info here to make an assessment. The love/hate with your boyfriend may seem like BPD, but not necessarily and it takes much more than that to make the diagnosis. Try and worry less about the diagnosis right now and focus on the issues you are addressing in therapy-if the diagnosis you have is inaccurate, a clearer picture will emerge as therapy progresses. Trust the folks you are working with and give them time to get to know you.
Good luck!
if youve been diagnosed its probably what you have. were you honest with your therapist? asked to be reevaluated if you didnt tell the truth. but if you did then you probably have dsyhymia or whatever the hell that is:P
Seriously from someone who has dealt with a lot of mental health problems in my family there are some things you should know. First, you can not diagnosis yourself it is impossible. Second, you need several opinions go to many doctors and get in therapy. You are not normal. If you are on any medications they should be monitored by a doctor and combined with therapy. Also, if the drugs are not working then it is time to try something else. You should not be on drugs and still suicidal. Again not normal. The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result.
I think you should discuss this with your psychiatrist.
Self diagnosing can be a dangerous game. Often disorders and diagnosis overlap. In fact, the diagnosis is not really important, it's just a starting point on how to treat a person. Borderline personality disorder is an ingrained flaw in one's character and cannot be corrected with medication. These people need extensive therapy in order to get better. Wheras someone with dysthymia would respond much better to medication and therapy combined.
Talk to your psychiatrist and perhaps start seeing a psychologist for regular therapy. Good luck!
STICK WITH YOUR WELLBUTRIN. IT TAKES ABOUT THREE MONTH TO SEE ANY MAJOR CHANGES WITH MOST MEDICATIONS. DISCUSS THE BPD WITH YOUR THERAPIST. YOU DON'T MENTION IF YOU ARE SEEING A COUNSELOR OR A PSYCHARIST. THERE IS A DIFFERENCE. ANYTIME YOU ARE THINKING ABOUT SUICIDE GET ASSISTANCE IMMEDIATELY. GO TO THE E.R. CALL A SUCIDE HOTLINE, CALL THE POLICE, ANYTHING, BUT DO NOT FOLLOW THROUGH WITH HURTING YOURSELF.
