Need Job Interview Help?

You are correct, you do not have to reveal this to your potential employer and should not- it is none of their business and you are covered by disability rights and law (most likely). You could state that you were traveling, exploring options for your future, had some money saved up and took a break for awhile. Emphasize what you have done, project self confidence and assurance and smile! You could possibly state that you had a family issue/tragedy without explaining it- it's personal, a medical issue or concern (that is resolved). Only you know your history with an MI and how you act, how your moods are. etc. If you are on medications, don't go off of them and risk a swing. If you do get to the point where your MI interferes with your life (ie; Tardive Dyskensia, seizures, severe mood swings) look into organizations that can assist people with MI and other disabilities. Check out the National Institute of mental health (NIMH). Just do a search and the website will pop up. I am not positive on the address, but I do know it's NIMH. Best of luck to you and believe in yourself. There is no reason that someone with an MI (or other disabilities) can't succeed- you just have to work hard and have confidence and believe in yourself. Good luck!
tell them you were going to school
fibromyalgia that has gotten significantly better.
tell them briefly that you had a very PERSONAL problems/issues and they will get the hint and realise they shouldnt delve and ask any more question.if you give them no other reasons to hire you they will not hesitate and shouldnt discriminate on the fact that you have had some miscellaneous problems in the past year and have been unable to work. good luck!
