Nervous about getting shots, any tips to calm me down?

Think about something really beautiful and happy before you go in to get the shots. Decide what you want to think about. When it is time, look in the opposite direction and think about the happy things. It will be over before you know it. I know this sounds kind of silly, but I have had thousands of shots and the anticipation is much worse than the actual thing. I know you are scared, but if you just focus on positive things it makes it better.
It really does not hurt because its so quick. Just look away and don't even think about it. Think of some attractive male celebrity you like, think about life, think about how 7th grade will be. Just basically talk to yourself with your own thoughts. It works.
dont over worry they are really not that bad
i hate shots too..picnch another part of your body really hard while your getting them done to distract you and DON"T look!
aw they dont even hurt! trust me.. i get them all the time.. its like a pinch for A SECOND.. its not big deal at all.. the best thing u can do when you're getting them. is close your eyes. just dont watch. if u dont see it, u can barely feel it.
You'll be fine. I used to get 3-4 shots every week for allergies. It really isn't that bad. Just look away and as soon as it starts it will be over before you know it.
I JUST RECENTLY GOT A TETNIS SHOT ABOUT A WEEK AGO AND I WAS MORE THEN SCARED! THE BEST THIG TO DO IS NOT TIGHTEN YOUR ARM,LEG,OR BUTT...WHEREVER YOUR GETTING THE SHOT! THAT WILL MAKE IT HURT WORSE! AND DON'T LOOK WHEN THEY PUT THE SHOT IN OR TAKE IT OUT! OH, AND JUST REMEMBER THAT IT WILL BE OVER BEFORE YOU KNOW IT AND IT WILL BE A LONG TIME BEFORE YOU GET MORE SHOTS!
close your eyes and hold your breath you won't even feel it.
listen to music
just tell the doctor not to let you see the needle or thing that they use to inject you with.
im not scared of them really but even when i get my blood taken i tell them not to let me see it but after its happend i can look at it.
i find that it helps
dont look at the shoot
while the person is giving u the shoot just close ur eyes and breathe in deeply
before u know it, it will be over
Don't look when you get your shots. I just got mine today. I thought it would hurt a lot. I closed my eyes and relaxed the arm that the were giving me the shots on. I was surprised when they said that they were finished. I remember it hurting when I had them before, but that was because I watched and I tightened up my arm which made it sore.
Take two Benadryl about 30 to 60 minutes before your appointment. The Benadryl will make you very, very tired and you won't really care what's going on! You can see how the Benadryl effects you ahead of time by buying it and trying it now. Remember, take a total of 50mg. Keep a little notebook with the time you took it, how long it took to kick in, and if it relaxed you enough. Good luck!
Try to think about a happy moment between you and your family or friends to distract the feeling from the shot.
just try not to think about them. keep your mind busy by doing activities that require a lot of focus.
I remember getting those shots..I have a phobia of needles so I ended up taking 1 year and half instead of the 6 months or whatever it is to get them all. The only tip I got is be glad those are the last mandatory shots required for now.
When I get blood draws, I tell the nurse dont tell me about so they dont draw my attention, then I look away and think happy thoughts so by the time I realize i got stuck its over
